I keep telling myself I'm just snow-delayed, but it's not looking for that to be true.

stay safe, warm, and eat yummy stuff :rose: will your connection stay put or might you lose it?

Relax.

Have a cup of tea.

Read a book.

check, check and check

the weather guessers are guessing up to 2 feet. I expect to be out of power and internet if that happens.

I have cooked all morning anticipating having to 'rough it' all weekend, so there's that

Sucks that it happened over the weekend.
No 'sicky or snowed-in' day off work for you.:(

All the recent snow has melted here at my location.

Y'all deserve to get a good dose.

Wear your mittens.

I find that many problems that are attributed to bad weather were really caused by bad judgement, mostly by people who believe that their schedule is is more important than their life (or others lives). Transportation related tragedies are common. Sitting out a storm is hard for some, but it's easier with some coffee and cookies.

out of power doesn't sound good :( lots of cooking means getting to do lots of eating :D sounds like a good time to snuggle and read. here's to it being prettier than a total pain in the arse :rose:

Me, too.

The house may get very clean . . .

or I may binge the entire series of Breaking Bad.

The real Snowblind: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rUfYNQsr3h8

I plan on binge reading a book I've had for a while.

I have cornbread, veggie soup, and beans at the ready for any power outages, and I will clean the house.

Sis called, w may meet at my 94 yr old uncle's house for cards and pot luck

and i called dibs on her kayaks...so i can tie them to the jeep and 'sleigh ride' I just need a driver.

I'd rather it be over the weekend because my corporate system doesn't recognize 2 feet of snow as a legit excuse for absence. So it a good thing I don't call off often.

They have been forecasting this all week to one degree or another. No one should be unprepared and if they are it's their own fault. Although I will admit that until the hubs took me out to prove to me the DOT hadn't been our way yet, I was considering heading out knowing I'd be stuck there all weekend. (My one way commute is 60 miles)

I agree. and thank you

How can they not recognise that as legitimate?

In one job I had, my boss got angry when I couldn't get to work due to flooding. The water was a metre deep on my driveway!
I told him to send a boat.

Perhaps you need to put in a request for a snowmobile?

You're a genius!!! I should make cornbread. I haven't made any in ages.

I miss my old gas range which works with or without electricity.

The vacuum won't work without electrics, and I'm not wasting generator gas on it, either.

hospitals, gotta be staffed, so they take a hard line. In the past, have made the trip when people with a 2 mile commute have called off. This absence policy is the result. I don't feel hard about it, as it has to be this way to keep people from crying wolf.

Was their ever really any doubt as to my level of genius?
