No, that is not what I said. Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Snapchat, Google, and every other thing on the net, are doomed to disappear as computer tech changes and improves because the use of those is already voluntary, just like your landline became superfluous when cellular technology actually started to work. When then next disruptive advance in social interaction appears, the current companies will be swept aside.

What is not voluntary is walking to the market, driving to work, buying and selling food, clothing, and fuels, and those activities are being monitored just like your social networking.

The downfall of free civilisation is the increasing ability of every corporate entity, and government office - to track and monitor nearly every single human action, followed by using the data to engineer their version of a perfect society.

I agree re. what the government's desire is. Virtually everything you see going on around us that the government has their hand in is an attempt to gain control over the individual. The problem is they see society as some homogeneous lump of humanity which it is decidedly not. And that is the flaw in their plans.
