it's raining, forecast is gales and high winds this afternoon but...

thanks God or whoever.

:D

Well glad i stayed up!

Suppose to be sunny mid 70's and no wind here.

:D

It's late May and in VA we are having temparatures characteristic of fall or even winter at night....it's 40 degrees outside now...

It's sunny in Scotland but it's prolly going to start raining in the evening :)

Halo :rose:

Another wet day in Wales.
Quad bike wheels spinning in the field gateways.
Sheep looking like drowned rats.
Cattle sheltering under the hedges.
Too wet to work ground down or spread fertiliser.
Too windy to repair the roofs of the tolants.
Bugger. I may have to stay in front of the computer all day. :)

Northern CA has been rainy and windy too. Amazingly cold for the middle of May as well.

It's supposed to be better today, though.

Morning p_p_man.

You didn't say "Bush."

I was just about to :p

For the past five weeks a British explorer has been trying to walk to the North Pole pulling his own supplies with him. No dogs.

Two days ago he had to give up and be rescued because he got trapped on an ice floe which in the normal course of events would be expected to stay solid for a further month.

Because of increased heat in the atmosphere it's melting a month early...

So Bush won't even let our guys achieve a world record because of his Kyoto walk out...

:D :D so there!

Morning p_pman - I was in England over the past few days and got soaked twice. Since I was living out of a plastic bag, like quite a few in London this was highly inconvenient.
Soaked to the skin in Oxford on Saturday afternoon and on Monday evening in Mornington Crescent.

Have you seen about the drought in Africa? My sister says that she knew this drought and the ensuing famine would be massive in November last year. It was clear to all involved in African affairs. Yet the UN relief stocks are at 300,000 tons - only enough for days.

Did the UN stocks get diverted to Afghanistan when they knew they would be needed in Africa. Were they diverted to soften the impact of the pain of the Afghan people causing popular disapproval of the war?

I don't know - but wonder what you think?

Yeah I knew you were over here I read your 'Dice Man' thread...

Mornington Crescent? You should have told me I could've been there in 45 mins. We could have met up for a pint. Never mind next time...

Well the UN is known to be an extension of the US and that particular country hasn't got a lot of time for African Affairs yet. Hell, they've only just learnt where Afghanistan is...:D

And as America considers itself a non-paying member of the UN I suppose the organisation just doesn't have the cash to stockpile more food.

Or it's not allowed to under Bush's 'bullying diplomacy' who wants it for the Afghanis and maybe the Iraqis when their time comes...

Hey! This is meant to be a happy thread thanking God or whoever for letting me wake up. How come I've got diverted...again!

Sorry God or whoever

:D

Well for your happy thread, it's pissing down here now.

Did you see that someone has bred a featherless chicken? Claims it will be energy saving since it needs less food to produce all the feathers which most chickens have.
I thought it was an April fool, but it's May.

Hideous pathetic looking creature.

The scientist who created it, not the chicken!

Yes shouldnt have had that ruby last night - it is not sitting well !!

Big patch of blue sky here now. Shall I stop the dog from licking it's balls and walk it down to the river and visit my demented mum
or make a cup of coffee, have a Tunnock's Caramel wafer and play on Lit.?

Today is full of major decisions.

Tomorrow is the Air France auction, I think - it's every second Thursday. I may do a dice throwing decision. I could end up in Cayenne, Ste Pierre or Philidelphia.
I could be visiting Devil's Island - LittleDevilwithaHalo, they give options on a second ticket - fancy S. America for a fortnight?
