After taking a month to write it, sending it to someone for a look-see and picking over it for another 3 months, I've finally submitted my first piece to the site.

I've published stuff on other sites, but the readership is usually minors (of course the stories weren't explicit), so I'm a bit apprehensive about posting with the big boys and girls with an exclusively adult audience but I think I'm gonna be alright. I spell check and have some semblance of a plot.

To keep myself from getting too wound up and anxious while waiting, I'll hopefully get part two done and ready to submit by the time part one has been approved.

Congrats! Wishing you lots of great feedback. And a thick skin, in case your feedback is bad! (happens to the best of us!!)

Patience. The first submission always takes forever. And it may be rejected. Oh, the pain!

I was frenzied when I started writing for LIT. I'd written a 7-part series and a totally different 2-parter (later expanded to 3). The first of the 7-parter was rejected -- and that took forever. Aaargh! I successfully submitted the 2-parter and learned how to fix the 7-parter. That initial rejection gave me valuable lessons on how to thread LIT's hoops. Now, when my muse isn't lazy, it's almost easy. Or maybe I'm only desensitized.

Welcome to the feast. Hopefully, your meal will be a tasty one. Beware the cannibals.

Part one is approved :D

I'm assuming it will be up and actually on the site in a few hours (the website adds the day's submissions around 2:30 am give or take), but I am excited! Praying for a pleasant reception, but EH hasn't been particularly vicious anytime I look at other authors comment sections. Hell, at least it ain't LW ;)

That's great. Don't be afraid to advertise your stuff here too in the forums.

Good luck with your story. Consider adding a link to your story page as a signature line. Regardless of how it's received, you've taken a fun first step!
