...has taken a bit of a wrong turning.
Amidst all the rioting surrounding the G8 Summit a bit of hard news that emerged is that Europe and other participating nations are going ahead with plans to try and ratify Kyoto anyway.
As a footnote, a majority of global energy producing industries are coming down in favour of the Accord on the grounds that, in advance of the anticipated ratification of Kyoto, they have invested heavily into looking at alternative sources of energy. They have come to the conclusion that in the long run the alternatives would be more profitable for them than the present system.
