Well, guys, i'm taking the plunge! After years of posting to Literotica.com, i've finally decided to take the final step and submit one of my peices to a publisher!

Wish me luck guys, I'll be trying to publish the full novel of Slave to Love, which has done so swimmingly fantastic here on lit thus far. I truly hope that the publisher feels the way the readers do!! :fidgets nervously: sooo, just putting together my cover letter, synopsis and my first three chapters and getting all antsy lol! Overall though, i'm incredibly excited. If i hadn't had literotica.com to stretch my wings, i think it'd have taken me a long time to get to the place i am as a writer, as well as the courage to take this big step in going for my dreamed-of writing career!

Yay!! :nana:

go get em! knock the world on its ass as you go...and let us know how things turn out.

Hurrah! Overwhelm them with your brilliance and leave them panting for more. ;)

Good luck!

I didn't tell anyone when I submitted. *shrug* Didn't want to be embarrassed if I was rejected.

An Update!! (yes, this quick!)

Okie, so i had all set up to submit to a particular publisher, but when i made the final DECISION to publish, a friend of mine submitted me to HER publisher, who only accepts referrals from their authors or editors. They do not accept submissions because they want to adhere to their standard of excelence and have a hard time doing that when they are reading over a hundred submissions a day. It is a small publishing company, but they are wonderful, and have many incredible authors.

They LOVED my book! Well, the first six chapters of it at any rate! (Slave to Love, first six chapters are up on Lit for now until they tell me i haveta take it down. lol) So, they are getting the contract together and i should get it tomorrow to have my lawyers look it over and and and and!! I'M GONNA BE PUBLISHED!!! :shrieks!!!: :nana: :p :nana: :p

Holy hell, omg i'm going bugnutso crazy excited!! I'll start out as ebook, and possibly go paperback depending on how sales do! Woohoo! I am so incredibly STOKED!!

Everyone always told me to expect a million rejections no matter how good you are. They said it'll just keep happening and i gatta be strong. i NEVER expected this. The first time out the gate and accepted, i'm just blown away and so happy! Now i gatta get the second half of the book finished and go through the editing process with the editor at the company, who promised not to be to painful, lol. She said she loved my work but my editing needed help lol, which i fully admit, i am a horrible editor!! :grins and ducks bashfully:

Okie, Lord I am still "Spinning in heaven" So to speak :p

Thanks guys! Literotica ROCKS! And Heres to hoping for many MANY Sales! It's Yoai (m/m) which is the current bit literary term for it, hehe, thanks to our japanese friends and their manga works at any rate. I'm so stoked, i really loved this book to begin with but i wasnt certain that any publishers would as i'd spent more time on character developement and interaction then storyline up to this point, though, alot of back story through the interactions. Then again, she may just love my story concept and my writing style and want to work on my pacing when it comes editing time. We shall see.!

I'm a little nervous about the editing process as i have heard absolute nightmares over folks having hellish editors who wouldn't get that the style they had in mind wasnt the style you were trying to put out there. You know, like a funny sort of off the cuff sort of story with that sort of style, with an editor who wanted to use the largest most literary word available for any important word, completely missing the point of the artistic style. That woman said she ended up hiring her own editor, and after showing the publisher what both said the publisher agreed with her and changed her editor. But i am anxious that my creative 'vision' will get smooshed with an editor who wants to see it done his/her way rather then the way it comes to me.

Thats my big fear, but i know who my editor is gonna be already and have heard really excelent things about her, and she's the one who read my work and decided to pick it up for the company too, so she holds alot of power in this division of the company. Anyhoot, i'm super excited, super nervous, and just all around out of my mind.

Amusingly enough, i've been to stoked to even freaking write, which is a terrible thing when i have half a book to finish i guess!! lol. But i have forced myself to write notes to myself, character specs and ideas, some outline work on any novel that i'm working on (i have four) and story ideas. Anything that comes to me, i'm putting down, i know i should be working on StL since it got picked up, but i'm to jittery to actually WRITE, i can just manage sorta half coherant little scribbles lol.

I'm sure i'll calm down here shortly, and it doesnt help that i'm super sick right now. I'm disabled RL, with a chronic pain disorder, and i get waves and bouts of serious muscle fatigue that goes along with it. Swelling, and all kindsa stuff (you might as well tie a string around my ankle and hand me to a little kid at disney land right now, i'm a balloon! The kid wouldn't know the difference! lol) At any rate, due to that, my legs gave out, not once but TWICE today. FIrst time, i half-caught myself by sacrificing my knee for a horrid bang and scrape. If i'd realized i'd be getting banged on such a tender spot, i'd have just fallen. The second fall was thankfully in my room where i went down and couldn't catch myself, full fall onto my back banging hips, back, shoulders and head against the floor. OUCH. So, currently, i'm hurting alot. Once i loose the gitteriness and the pain ebbs a bit i'll be writing like a fiend no doubt!! :nana:

AND!! Not only have i totally managed to get a publisher for my book, i also found a great way of making some cash online which is totally legit, which as you all know is hard as hell to find online. In Jan alone i made about 800 bucks, and i'm really excited about that since being disabled i can't work! (I wont be spamming it here in the forum, but if you're curious about this just PM me i'm happy to share, just not gonna spam folks is all) So, hopefully next month will be even better, i have high hopes and alot of excitement. Everything is really going GREAT except my physical body, which i think will hopefully start improving the more my life does (Least i hope so! I believe our minds have an effects on our bodies, hehe.)

So YAY!!!

Any words of advice, from any of you, published or not, are GREATLY apreciated. I really apreciate and have respect for the folks here, and i'm so pleased and thankful for all of your support!!

:HUGS and snuggs and kisses to everyone!:

Nikki :)

*BIG GRIN*

No advice, only wanted to let you to know that your enthusiasm's catching. I can feel the excitement. Keep going!
