Somehow, I convinced myself that this time, it would be different, and I went ahead and upgraded to WinXP.

Goodness knows it's gonna be ugly, but in all honesty WinME was crashing 4 - 5 times a night AFTER a clean install...I hated that damn program!

So far, everything seems to work, but if anyone wants to ask specific questions about my observations, eXPeriences, etc., feel free to email me.

I'd rather do something else to you Bobby boy

:p

BOB, check out www.zdnet.com
I got email from them claiming that there are problems with Window XP but I never got a chance to read it yet.
However, good luck with it.

Manu says: Did you do a clean install of XP or did you install it on top of ME?

When i upgraded my computers recently the tech at the shop said he wouldn't recommend ME. Too many glitches.
Good luck with XP :)

Welcome back, Bob!

Good luck with XP and I hope the XPerience isn't too painful! lol

AS you know, sometimes with computer software, problems seem to go XPonentially until you iron out the wrinkles.

They have been saying that the XP wouldnt be able to use the older peripherals, such as my little old digital camera and scanner. Do you have any and do they stillwork?

A few things you might want to know.

If you dont like the look of XP you can change the thmes it uses and make it look liek your old windows 2000.

If your machine dont work right you can try using the windows 2000 drivers.

If they screw up your machine you can use the Driver rollback option to go to your previous drivers.

Unfortunately, I had to do it on top of WinME because the clean install wipes the hard drive and mine is too big (40GB) for me to tar it off to tape or back it up to CD....
