Gomer was queer?

HONOLULU — The actor best known for playing the TV character Gomer Pyle in the 1960s has married his male partner of 38 years.

Hawaii News Now ( http://*******/14tFM3U) reports Jim Nabors and his partner, Stan Cadwallader, traveled from their Honolulu home to Seattle to be married Jan. 15.

Gay marriage became legal in Washington state last month.

The 82-year-old Nabors says you've got to solidify something when you've been together as long as they have.

They couple met in 1975 when Cadwallader was a Honolulu firefighter. Cadwallader is 64.

Gomer being gay is a very old story. I thougut he was dead though...

Ancient even. But he's in the press, once again proving the adage that when it comes to Hollywood there is no such thing as bad press.

Wow. Finding someone who didn't know he was gay is like finding a new species of butterfly. Who gets naming rights?

300 generations of butterflies knew Jim Nabors is gay.

Less knew he was a long-time resident of Hawaii.

In other news it has recently been discovered that Paul Lynde might have had a male lover at one time. Maybe. It's just rumors and innuendo right now.

Gomer Pyle is very very American. A spin-off of Andy Griffith which was just about the most American show ever produced.

I imagine that at 82, he has trouble solidifying much of anything these days. But congratulations nonetheless.

Another landmark towards equality in the Marine Corps!

Hmm, I never got that vibe from Mr. Lynde [RIP].

I would have bet he was tagging Rose Marie. Or visa-versa.

My favorite Hollywood Squares "ab-Lynde."

Peter Marshall: "Paul, if you suffer from chronic insomnia, are you more likely to be a man or woman?"

Lynde: "That's what's keeping me awake."

LOL, only you and the other RW knuckledraggers would view a man marrying the person they've loved for 38 years as "bad press."

Gomer has sung Back Home Again in Indiana right before the famous command, Gentlemen, Start Your Engines at the Indianapolis 500 since 1972...

...although he did miss the 2007 race because of health reasons, and he also missed last year because he had to have heart valve surgery. He did record himself on video singing BHAiI, though, and that was played before the 500 last year.

Here's Nabor's 2010 Indianapolis 500 rendition of BHAiI for the 400,000 or so fans in attendance at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway...

...and this is a shot of Gomer in his Hawaiian back yard during an interview early last year:

Turning into a troll zip?

I didn't make up the adage, it's been around for years.

So Nabors and his longtime guy friend flew to Seattle to get married. Nabors has been a 'has been' for years now and his guy buddy never was a 'has.' Why this non-event was worthy of a press release baffles me. And why the press thought it was worthy of newsprint baffles me even more. Maybe he plans on releasing another album, wedding songs maybe?????

No I'm not turning into a troll.

And no, I didn't think you made it up, it would be far too perceptive for your brain.

What I was commenting on was the fact that you (and those RW idiots like you) are the only ones who would see this as "bad press."

It's not a difficult concept.
