Welcome to any newbies

Hi. I'm definitely new. I used to post at another 'addventure' site, but I'm enjoying CHYOO much better. There's a wider range of stories and some really excellent writers. I also like the team moderator style.

One question about these forums: who do you list your stories hyperlinked at the bottom of your posts? That's really neat.

Click User CP then Edit Signature and put links to your stories.

For how to use the correct formatting, on the bottom left of this screen click 'vB code'. That gives instructions and examples of neat tips and tricks including URL Hyperlinking.

What's the other site? Just curious. Is it a sex adventure site?

Yeah. I understand it's one guy who runs it, out of his own pocket. It's mostly superhero-themed. It's kind of chaotic, and it's kind of repetitive. Also, it's often down.

I mentioned CHYOO to one really talented writer over there, but he said he got virus attacks when he checked this site. That doesn't sound right to me. Maybe his security setting is set too high (like, 'don't surf')

OK, I think I have my signature, but it doesn't appear to show up in my threads. I have "Show your signature" checked in the "Additional Options" box below the message. This is apparently not idiot-proof.

It IS idiot-proof then!

I realize now that I don't see my own signature while I'm signed in, but I can see it when I'm not.

Thanks!

You may want to change your account preferences. Seeing signatures and avatar pictures are options that can be set on or off.

Or maybe it's some strange issue. I can see my own signature when I'm logged in.

Hi,

I've been a lurker for some time on the Literotica forums and it made me visit CHYOO. I'm French and I've just started writing a little something in French on CHYOO, but there's no sex yet. (and no choices either. Damn.)
So, errr... Thanks for the welcoming :)

Great, Râleclins! I hope that there's a French speaking population here. Everything's basically German or English.

Another question...

When is it appropriate to start a new CHYOO forum topic?

For example, I notice that the "CHYOO Authors" section is full of people talking up recent developments on their stories. Is this a good idea? Expected? That is, will people generally want or expect to see me talking about new threads in my own stories? Or is that crass self-promotion? Or does no one care who makes new how many new threads so long as they are on-topic, CHYOO wise?

Feeling like the kid in class with his hand always in the air,

As long as you don't start talked politics, religion, or off-topic, I think new topics are fine.

As for announcing new threads in my stories (since I'm the most recent one to do it), I just want to get more traffic over there and get more feedback and views. Searching for stuff is apparently too hard, since old stories that haven't made it into the Most Recent chart rarely get read.

I don't like to artificially bump my stories, only when new threads are created. So, this is a way to get a few people over to Chyoo in the between time.

hi

Welcome fellow newbies. I encourage you to post to some threads to stories, like mine! So conveniently listed below...

Or, if you've got a sense of the place and some ideas, start your own.
