Weirdo automotive question

There's nothing odd about questioning those darn contraptions. Fire away.

Good luck, I stick to the North American models, less complicated.

If they're so less complicated, why do they tend to break down so much??

70% of an "American Made" automobile is put together from components and parts manufactured in Thailand, Mexico and France. Are there really any North American Cars anymore?

We as a specie decided some years ago that automobiles will run continuously at the optimum manufacturers specifications with emission standards that may or may not be realistic.

Hence cars manufactured anywhere and sold in the United States have been over complicated with "Black Boxes" and computer chips contolling a midrid number of functions.

I take my car to a shop where it's plugged into another computer that tells the mechanic which electrical/electronic componant went haywire. I'd just screw it up if I tried to fix it myself. (I'm pretty handy, you know.)

Ok, we seem to have figured out what the problem is.

Thanks, LE and pez!

Nice to know I got your engine revving again.

Your car's not too bad either.:D
