Anyone else had something strange going on with your story ratings? I have one story that's rated 4.81 on my author page (and has been since early this morning) but the rating (which was right this morning) has now reverted back to what it was two or three days ago.

Um YES . . . had a story on lesbian, which stayed at a 4.98, then got Laurel to change it (how many times have I said this?) it went to 4.24, and suddenly jumped up today.

Another story, non-erotic stayed at a hot rating for a long while, then suddenly jumped below the hot.

Interesting that both those stories include men, neither of the characters week in my eyes, but I do understand why men would dumb my score down . . . can I be so sure it was men? I've not received bad feedback, but it's a good guess for PLUG: THE WINDOW . . . more abuse in the other story.

It depends on Lit. My observation is that the story, if it gets someone off, gets a high rating - believe me - I've read some amazing stories here by AH talksters that don't have a high rating like 'some' crap on toplists. Does it mean anything? When you know the story is better? A score makes me smile, and sure happy - but it is always less than what the story really rates from a plot perspective.

Are you bothered? Which story? Hm or did you say and I wasn't listening? - yikes -

What's the story, what category? Many things can effect a score I think . . . need more specifics to really comment intelligently.

Charley, it's not that the actual rating has dropped, it's that the rating showing by the story in the lists is not matching up to the rating on my author page. This morning they matched, now they don't. (My rating on this particular story hasn't changed at all on my author page since this morning. Same number of reads/votes/etc. That's why it is weird that it's suddenly not matching up. It's like my author page is current, but the category lists took a jump a couple of days into the past.)

I have had a story that keeps getting trolled and dropping though, which is what you are talking about, I think. I think probably most authors at Lit experience that.
