What are you drinking that I should also be drinking? Fun, odd, unusual drinks that need a little nudge.

Ok .. I'll go first ... the Fallen Angel cocktail ... 2 oz. Gin, 1 oz. lemon (or lime) juice, 1 tsp. creme de menthe, and Angostura bitters.

One recipe suggests subsisting Absenthe for the bitters. I like that better.

I'll go second, too. Aquavit ... imagine gin made with caraway and dill instead of juniper. Aquavit & Tonic is good, and the Fallen Angel made with Aquavit is good, too. Use it anywhere you might use gin ... if you like rye bread this might be the liquor for you.

Picon Punch. Served in Basque dinner houses in California, Nevada, and Idaho. Perhaps other places.

2 ounces Torani Amer.
1 to 1.5 ounces club soda.
1/4 ounce grenadine
1/4 ounce brandy
Optional, 1/8 ounce Cointreau.
Lemon peel garnish.

Use a small tulip glass, or perhaps an Irish coffee glass.

Fill glass with crushed ice, add Amer, club soda, grenadine and the optional Cointreau. Stir vigorously 21 times, not 20 nor 22. 21. Float brandy on top, express the lemon peel over the drink, then drop it in the drink.
