short version: some washington state high school seniors got the idea to create a fundraising calendar for their end of year, booze & drug-free school party. long version here*: http://www.koin.com/news.asp?RECORD_KEY[news]=ID&ID[news]=6141.

commentary: the article gets slightly hysterical, but there's only one picture, which seems relatively tame. w/out seeing the other pictures, it's tough to form an opinion.

*i didn't use VB code for this URL b/c it uses brackets.

The one picture they showed wasn't any big deal. Not sure I would have liked seeing my son in "risque" poses though. Some things a mother just should not know, if you know what I mean.

what i find disturbing: at some point, won't a group of girls want to do the same? when that get slapped down by the school administration/PTA/whoever, they're gonna say, "hey, you let the boys do it. why not us?"

and they'll be right to do so.

i also am concerned that those pics will invariably wind up on some "barely legal" pr0n site.

Oh, boy, I never even thought of that. Yep, a group of girls would definitely get a much different response.

Those pics probably are already posted at some smarmy porn site, sad to say.

What's the difference between that double standard and the one that in a lot of places it's illegal for a woman to go topless and legal for a man? Women may not like the double standards but it's our life.

WW: personally, i'm right there with you, but that's IMHO a much tougher battle to win.

that's funny: i have avs & sigs turned off, so i forget that's even there. the funnier thing of course is that neither of those guys are me.
