The max for one of the charges he was convicted on is 25 years--minimum 5 years.

Hope no one digs up a "we're pals; we rape together" quote from Trump, or poor old Harvey might be found hanging from a bedsheet in his cell--extra likelihood if it's found he was a friend of Bill Barr's father.

I think of all the charges he was only convicted of the third degree rape. He gets up to four years and she gets life.:(

No. He was convicted on another count that brings 5 to 25 years. I watched the verdict come in. Go recheck.

(I wasn't watching for the verdict to come in, incidentally. It was just what was on when I managed to drag to a late breakfast. I'm still of two minds on this issue, but think what it has come down to in New York--there's still a case in California--is fair. I think he's a predator, but also think the atmosphere he operated in wasn't all one-sided. The women involved in the case did it for ambition. They're trying to get it both ways. The women in the case continued with him as long as they got ahead. They need cases of women who ran from him after a clear rape. I wouldn't be all surprised that such cases exist, though. He deserves to be in prison--maybe in the cell next to Trump.)

This is the prison sentence Weinstein could face

Harvey Weinstein was found guilty of committing a criminal sex act in the first degree involving one woman and rape in the third degree involving another woman.

Here are the sentencing guidelines for those charges:

Probation to four years in prison for rape in the third degree
At least five years in prison for criminal sexual act in the first degree

He was acquitted on the more serious charges of predatory sexual assault involving the two women, Miriam Haley and Jessica Mann. Those charges carried a recommended sentence of 10 years to life in prison.
