weight loss?

i've gone down from 250 to 167 it took me approx 2 years... and i've kept it off to 2 years.. the "method" i've used... watching calories.. getting a gross calorie count of around 2000 a day.. but getting a net calorie count of around 1300-1400 a day.. The way i burn those 600-700 calories? i walk 6 miles a day in about 90 minutes... yes.. almost every day ~smile~ Is it "fun" not all the time... (i've just had a 3 week stint of blisters..) But is it worth it.. oh hell yeah... i was on 5 different medications when i started in 2005.. and it took me 15 minutes to walk 3/10th of a mile.. NOW i'm on NO medications and i walk a 15 minute mile!!

and yeah... sometimes.. i get discouraged because i want to get down to 150 - 155.. BUT i know that if i keep "plugging" away at it.. i WILL get to my goal ~smile~

to keep track of my calories i use a website... http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate it's not "perfect" but it allows me to track the food i eat and the exercise i participate in.. it even has SEX listed AS exercises ~huge grin~

When you belonged to Curves did you do just the workout or did you do the diet also?

I don't work out at Curves but a friend of mine gave me the book and I have been using that diet with my regular workout routine and it is the first thing that has actually worked for me.
The first month I lost 10 pounds and I am already down 25.

The diet they use is based on calorie modification. Basically the first seven days you eat about 1200 calories, to shock your body. Then the next three weeks you eat 1500 calories a day. Then you eat about 1800 a day until you gain back 3 pounds so it lets your body relax a little. Then you jump back to 1200 and start over.

I have 25 more to go and I am going to stick with this. I also go to the gym 3 days a week and do strength training and cardio. That is the mistake I made in the past I either was good with my food or my exercise but was never good with both at the same time and now that I do both, I am really seeing results.

Good Luck!
