In bloom we have roses, clematis, gloxinia, day lilies, the last of the columbine, yucca, water lilies, tiger lilies, Asiatic lilies, heavenly bamboo, fuchsia, bittersweet, amaryllis, and the butterfly bushes are about to bloom. The forest is so lush, vision range is under twenty feet. The koi pond is running clear. Life is good.

Enjoy!

The tomatoes are blooming happily here.

Which reminds me, they need water.

We have pear and cherry tomatoes and peppers blooming...

I planted Peonies. The moles loved them and then the dogs dug up the yard...

Same with the tulips. I had one this year...

I may add some bulbs this fall, for fun and color next spring.

I have lots of bulb flowers. Only thing is, the squirrels have different gardening plans then I do, and tend to move them to other places in the yard. They're messing with my color scheme's. Little bastards.

If you had squirrel brains, it would make sense.

Yes, nothing like that first burst of color to shake the spring blues; daffodils grow everywhere wild here, and we added spetacular dutch bulbs in a naturalized setting. Grape hyacinth spreads thick and fast and we also have giant hyacinths which provide fantastic cuttings and fill the house with their sweet scent...

And this year, one of the moles made a run under the snow crocus, so the dachshunds plowed that row for me. But, on the other hand, I don't have as much of a squirrel (or pretty much ANY critter) digging problem as I used to have sans weiners...

Are you implying I'm squirrelly? :)

At least some of the more exotic bulbs do stay on my property. Even if it's now 50 feet in another direction then were it bloomed the year before.
But it's a bitch to look over at the neighbor's yard and think, Damn it, that's mine!

No, I am saying you are way more evolved than a tree rat. But that probably makes me a species-ist, doesn't it?

My neighbor's crap plants are growing through the fence to cozy up to the water supply, it seems. I already hacked them back, but now I have to do it again.

Looks like a nice couple of hand fulls in here, physically speaking mind you, and it not implying the guys either.

When we were big-city livin', my neighbor finally broke down and began mowing my yard, fertilizing it, and spraying for weeds and ants. He especially hated dandelions, called them little soldiers...
