Well, I love shoes, but now ya'll can tell me what shoes you like or don't like! :D To start with, something comfortable, but delicate and lovely... this ought to be a trick and a half. I'm actually thinking of decorating my own. I'll just get a pair of ballet slippers and add pearls or something. They just have to match the dress.

This is what I think my ring will look like. I took the original and am sculpting it slowly into what I want with the immense help of Harbinger.

I second Caroline's choice.

Ballet slippers are so cool to wear under long dresses - really comfy, almost like going barefoot. The only problem is, they don't usually have much of a sole and if you aren't used to wearing them for long periods, your feet can actually start to hurt. Especially if you are dancing. (most ballet slippers have a leather/suede sole that stops just at the ball of your foot, and the longer you dance the more it can cut into your feet, making for ouchie time!) I would stick with the flats you've picked here. Comfortable and beautiful!

And I love the ring - it's beautiful!

I don't think I've said this yet, and even though I don't know you well, I wish you all the best on your upcoming marriage!

Shucks, I ain't even DONE nothin' YET! :D

Just promise me you won't ask me about shoes, dresses, purses, candles, flowers, napkins, invitations, complimentary matches, guest lists, table settings, music, anything frilly, lacey, etc., etc., etc. Most males have an allergic reaction to wedding paraphernalia. The only know antidote is alcohol, applied liberally and until contact with the allergen has ceased.

(I like the side view, too.)

Hon, you're helping me more than anything you know. I mean, how could I possibly know the carat size of those side stones? Much less the ones that are tucked way in there.... how big are THOSE?

I can't let you do the "aw shucks Ma'am" thing, Harbinger.

Ahem.

Harbinger is an artist of the finest caliber in terms of jewelry design. I've seen a video he's in, boys and girls, and am seriously impressed with him. I'm so impressed that, in tomorrow's mail, i'm sending him a bunch of my stones so he can make me whatever he wants from among them. I trust his instincts and the artistry of his eye.

You know, some of us are really accomplished people in our everyday lives. Harbinger is definitely among that group.

Just thought y'all should know.

As for shoes I like these;

I think the third picture of the slippers (the squarish simple ones with little ornamentation) make a better pairing with your dress. I thought the first two were too fussy and prissy. I like the fourth pic also, with the square toe and the lace overlay.

I just know your ring will be a work of art. Good luck!

the rings on the heavy side but it looks decent... Are there going to be alternating stones around the band?

The colours actually like my cross, what stones are we using?

Okay babykins, enough with the ring and slippers, what are you going to wear under it all? And that night, what are you going to wear that night?

Let's see some lingerie, girl!
:D

I like the second choice, Myst. Just be sure they are comfortable<speaking from the bridesmaid's experience>. Your ring looks lovely too. I still want to be sure we see pictures of the wedding. Promise?

Woo-hoo!
That's pretty stuff, darlin'.

Is this for under your gown? If so, won't that lacy part kind stick out and interrupt the smooth flow of the lines of the gown?

Maybe a basque or a bustier something like this?

Oh, cym, I like those much better! I actually was thinking of wearing nothing but a comfy pair of bikinis. The neck is too wide and too low in the back to wear a regular bra, so I might just go without. I usually do anyway. But if I can find a decent bra to accentuate what I don't have, maybe I'll opt for that. ;)

Myst I am so glad there is someone else on here getting married - I was beginning to despair of finding any place I could talk about my wedding with 'sane' people!!
When and where will it be?
re: the dress and undies - I am probably wearing knickers and holdups but no bra - I don't usually wear a bra either - far too small up top! My seamstress has sewn soft bra cups into the dress bodice to give a bit of shape there - they are actually quite comfortable and I don't have to worry about bra straps or anything.

btw the dress is lovely!!!!

I have a beautiful dress which I will try and get piccies of to post and I am going for a completely romantic english country wedding in the north pennines (gorgeus countryside) less than 3 months now - I am getting excited!!

can't get a piccy of my dress but here is a picture of the place i am getting married in.

Here's a picture of a dress very similar to mine. I can't find the exact one but the picture is so titchy it will give you an idea anyway.
