Wedding sex isn't necessarily the most original idea, but I was just wanting to brainstorm a bit about some interesting twists that one can put on it. Guess I'm having some anxiety about getting married this summer, and need to use my literary alter-ego to work through those issues!

Anyway, some initial ideas:

After the ceremony, the wedding party goes out to a garden for pictures. There are several other wedding parties at the garden also getting pictures done, and one of them, to the groom's suprise, has a familiar bride--a female friend of his from college who he always had a thing for. They make eye-contact, and slip away from their wedding parties, and end up first talking and then fucking in a secluded part of the garden, before returning to their respective spouses.

Then there are all these different ways that you can pair the bride with best-man, groom with maid-of-honour, either one with the minister (especially if the preacher is female), or involving the parent of the spouse, or the limo driver, etc. Any thoughts about how to make some of these plots original?

If you check out my story page, you will see that I am not just a big fan of wedding stories, I have sort of written around the theme. My Kissing the Bride series has yet to get to the altar, and Shared Secret Smoking is the step FOB with the sister of the groom outside the reception. And then there is A Cumming of Age Nude Wedding, in which the bride, the groom, the bride's sister and half the town get involved. All of these stories have done very well. Like you, I think mine were indirectly inspired by anxiety, in my case as a steam valve off the runup to my step daughter's wedding.

I quite like your first suggestion. Nicely twisted with the two cheaters. I predict you will get requests for part deux, in which the spouses discover them and pair off in revenge.

If you want new twists, start by not sticking to opposing sexes. A bride to be with a female minister would be a nice kink. I'll try to think of others.

My idea would be that the groom is so drunk and tired from all the partying that he falls asleep in the wedding bed. His frustrated bride goes back to the nearly empty party and picks up the still sober bartender (or whatever personnel you want), who was already flirting with her during the ceremony / party.
Okay, so I was heavily inspired by Francois Ozon's film "5x2" on this one. But hey, they (the bride and some unknown hotel guest) didn't fuck, and we have the power to change that !
