Website picture batch downloading

Is there a good way of downloading all the pictures from a web page, or preferably a list of web pages?
Better still, all images with file names starting <name> from a website?

If you use Firefox, I know there is an Add-On option called Down Them all, which will pull all photo's off of a single web-page (not the entire site). It alows some degree of specificity with respect to the types or names of the files when you opt to initiate a download. Hope this helps.

I'll have a look. I'm hoping to get the pics from a whole website so it might not quite fit the bill but it might be a start.

feng, there's several reasons that typically this doesn't work. one, most sites use thumbnails as the embed for a link to the actual picture, two many sites have protection written into their code to prevent this, and three I've never heard of anything that would sweep an entire website like that that wasn't a commercial security product.

closest I've seen was a few versions of IE back when you could set up offline browsing and tell it how deep to follow links. that did sort of what you're looking for, but you needed to make your cache huge to store all the images.

hit google. I used to use an application like this when I'd find an image gallery that you could 'browse' the directories on just by changing the URL.

its been probably 8 years though, so I don't recall the name of it, but it was freeware and there were dozens like it.

i'd search for something like 'website download utility', or even hit download.com and search there (its safer than random download links off google)

Down Them All works great for the galleries that link directly to images, but sometimes there are sites that don't do that. Maybe they link to an HTML page with the pic embedded (the Masterbloodfer Hentai Galleries do this). If I want all the pics on my computer from a site like that I use something called HTTrack Website Copier.

It basically saves a copy of the gallery and all subpages. Now, be careful that you don't copy a potentially malicious site, as that could be detrimental to your general porn collection. Also, under the programs options, make sure to check the box "Do Not Purge Old Files". That way the galleries are culmunaltive.
