I think it would be kinda fun to have one where we can actually view who we are chatting with.

It'll happen in due time. There are web sites that do now, if you have the equipment.

I do...but I am not into exchanging live video with people that I have not already seen somewhere online. I kind of like the contempt that familiarity breeds.

I don't, but I completely understand. I certainly wouldn't do it with a stranger either.
