I use yahoo... don't know why... just do.

me too but not by choice... with firewall and router a lot of those software dont work on my computer.

-Netmeeting gives a good quality but dont work with computer like mine... good for peer to peer only

-Yahoo work ok but the images quality is very crapy but it goes smoothly..... it crash often when using version higher than 5... you can find others users on yahoo chat room and use your cam with them.

-Ivisit (www.ivisit.com) is really neat and fun, good images quality and some support for firewall and router. It is a community where you find others users with webcam.

-CuSeeMee, never tried it but I think you have to pay after a trial time

-Cameraware, dont know about this one

-iSpQ VideoChat, thats the next one I want to try...

Others?

Why are you here? It's not half time yet!

Or are you using one eye for each?

One Eye on my work, one eye on world cup commentary (text-based), one eye on Lit..

um.... yeaaaah

Net meeting and Pal talk better programs I think, but paltalk is great with cam picture then net meeting.:)

DéjàNu

I'm using a router with DSL and can't receive video with Netmeeting , and I've been hesitant to buy a cam knowing the router is an issue. How have you worked around it? Supposedly you can change the port settings, but I'm not sure how to do that. I can't even use Lit chat because of the router.

Router sucks!!!! but are essential when you want a network in your house with only one computer with Intenet connection...

There is a lot of support in using netmeeting with router that you can find on your router manufacurer's website. You can open some port with the software that come with your router (or DSL modem). But if you use a Hub like me you wont be able to open ports.

But Netmeeting is not the only software you can use with a webcam, ivisit and yahoo work real fine because you dont connect peer to peer but connect to a server.

Good luck!

Hope it help you and if you have any questions, I'm not very far.
