the petrol station queueing malarky is really strange.

Clearly it is nothing at all to do with brexit. zilch, zero, nada.

seemingly its the fault of Romainian hgv drivers who all buggered off back to romainia as a result of some vote a few years back.

so... there is no petrol shortage, its all down to lorry drivers not driving.

today an alarming number of people have agreed that we need -

paul dacre back editing the daily mail

the army on the streets.

RAF doing drone surveyalnce

the Navy using the inland waterway system to maintain control and stop black marketing

National service bringing back.

invade a small country and kidnap their HGV drivers.

Release any HGV drivers from prison regardless of their offence.

release anyone from prison who offers to drive a fuel tanker :eek:

abolish HGV licences.

Bomb Romainia :eek::eek::eek:

Postpone christmas to save lorry miles and fuel until May 2022.

Ban the 'working classes' (unspecified) from car ownership.

today you can post any extreme theory and a load of nutcases will agree with you.

Funniest thing is the Daily Fucking Mail calling for more immigrants.

1. We need fracking for all teh natural gas that is under the UK.

2. We need to lock up all Insulate Britain protesters and throw away the key, or exile them to the South Sandwich Islands where they might learn to insulate their own homes first... They have been blocking tanker deliveries around the M25, and through Dover - stupid assholes!

Or send them to Glasgow to block the streets and see how long they survive.

carbon worshippers! better idea is when they glue themselves to the road - just dont close it, be easier to hose them off than unglue them.

no diesel around here now. get the army out on the streets, shoot to kill.

edited to add - just did a quick straw poll seemingly a shoot to kil policy would be acceptable to quite a lot of people. seemingly this is also a far left conspiracy to discredit the government.

So are we clapping for the tanker drivers and forecourt staff at eight o'clock?

Another crisis provoked by the media. It would have been a mild annoyance, now it's

CRISIS
CRISIS
CRISIS

Weeping physiotherapists can't do their job, dying relatives can't be reached, Christmas is cancelled, ambulances run out of fuel and everywhere simple Simons and sensible Sharons saying 'Well i'm not going anywhere but I thought I'd better fill up just in case, well the stuff you read makes you worried innit'

Fuckwit Brits
Shoot the media

We have a shortage of Lorry drivers, a shortage of nurses a shortage of people to harvest food.

We don't have a shortage of financial advisers, Bankers or lawyers.

Could it be that we have our values upside down? The people we need the most get the smallest rewards. Meanwhile, people who need no training to jump on the gravy train, can't understand why the working classes don't want to fork out thousands to train to do these in-demand jobs.

luckiest escape i ever saw was a few years back, as the financial crisis kicked in. i was walking about a bit with a few like minded people and some banker (bank employee) in a royal bank of scotland building held a placard up at his 3rd floor office window ''i dont work to pay your pensions'' needless to say old bill soon had the situation under control, minimal damage to the building.

Many haulage firms have increased their wages to keep drivers and attract more. But there is a backlog of tests for HGV drivers and now the examiners are threatening to strike because of increased workload (and no increased pay to compensate).

The problem with allowing visas for foreign HGV drivers is that they were willing to work for lower pay than British Drivers. If they were paid the same (at the newly increased rates) and given visas there wouldn't be a shortage.

The same is true for care workers, The reasons most UK people won't take on care work jobs is that the pay is shitty, the conditions appalling, high responsibility and very poor payment. If one could get a job at a supermarket or flipping burgers there would be more pay and much betttr working conditions.

The salaries of care workers is shit because successive governments won't fund it properly.
We're short of HGV drivers because no planning for Brexit was ever done by the Clowns in Office.

A friend just msgd me saying four petrol stations nearby are closed and she's in a long queue at a Morrisons. By Tuesday it'll all be over.

I've got three quarters of a tank in the Alfa and half a tank in the Rangey. I'm good for at least a couple of weeks. Be fun if we can't fill the trucks up at work, though.

id go with the release anyone from prison who is prepared to drive a fuel tanker, then HGV licence holders could drive food lorries etc. also scrap the licence for a couple of years

that is/was a problem brought about by management exploiting their willingness to work - giving them visas would prove brexit to be a scam

which large numbers are doing, also many left to go back home feeling seriously disliked and untrusted, the pay is yet more ecploitation, as my frend points out in part due to numerous governments. the threat of no jab, no job is rich coming from a gov that willfully discharged covid positive people into care homes - to die and keep hospital death rates down, again they can work in a pub for more money with no need to get a jab.

The salaries of care workers is shit because successive governments won't fund it properly. spot on

keep warm by burning the Range Rover.

this armed police allowed to shoot to kill rumour is proving worryingly popular.

My two Volvo estates have got full tanks, as has my wife's runaround ancient Skoda. I filled the Volvos up last weekend as expected Petrol prices to increase - which they have locally.

My son-in-law has to drive 40 miles to and from work at a time when public transport isn't running. His car is virtually empty from school runs etc, so if he can't get petrol he will borrow one of my Volvos.

Breaking...

My friend made it to the pump at Morrisons and sent a video. £30 limit seems sensible - that would be enough to fire up a RR for five minutes at least.

I cycle to work but I hear there's a shortage of air so I've pumped the tyres up extra hard. I may cycle naked to improve aerodynamics. Can we use the methane from cows to run a central heating boiler - or an old person?

That Raducanu girl - is her Dad a HGV? He's from Rumaniac. Send them home.

Are any electric cars being blocked from recharge points by carbon-based car owners? Farmers have loads of diesel - give a tractor driver a BJ for a free fill up of red stuff and put it on video

A range rover will fire up for about 20 mins without any fuel due to the large amount of plaztic in them,

Can we use the methane from cows to run a central heating boiler - or an old person? i didnt know you could run an old person on methane? that could reduce care costs in many homes.

farmer Clarkson can fuck off.

The world running out of fossil fuel is a helluva shock. We had only half a century of warning.

Worst comes to the worst I'm filling the rangey with red and fuck the revenue men.

Both my motors are insured, tyvm. Long behind me are the days when a blue light in the mirror led to brown trousers.

And my son-in-law has the endorsement on his policy that allows him to drive any car loaned to him. So have I and my wife. All three of us watch for that on renewal because insurance companies are sneakily deleting it on many policies.
