Hamsters might have more exciting lives that we humans..

The name of the game is chess. We are all pawns in the game.

When we get off the board -- we can start the search for our bliss, not fenced in by the rules of the game.

love.......

As long as it isn't scrabble. I have horrid spelling.

You know what I find most annoying about the wheel of life? The shreeking squeel of the metal as the wheel spins.

eeeeeeee eh eeeeeeeeeee eh eeeeeeeeeee eh eeeeeeeeeee...

on and on for infinity.

Shut the thing off!

The game is different for everyone. For one man, it's chess. He sits and tries to outmanuever everyone else into the best position. For some woman, it's Twister. She'll spend her life trying to stretch in all directions, being wife, mother, and career woman until she collapses. For some it will be Go, and they will spend there life seeking space to run from others. Games are a reflection of our lives. They serve no purpose but to provide us with amusement. Maybe somewhere out there something thinks the same of us.

There are a number of scientists who think that the human predilection for play is vital for our higher brain functions. Saying something has no purpose but to provide us with amusement is sort of like saying something has no purpose but to make us think.

True, of course thought is not always a vital function. Thinking about the consequences of a given action is one thing, but my general survival is not threatened if I weren't thinking about why I only get toilet paper on my shoe at IHOP.

Play is almost universal among mammals, particularly large carnivores and omnivores such as ourselves. Therefore it must serve some vital purpose in ensuring survival and reproductive success, or evolution would weed it out instead of encouraging it.

Said I was watch the hamsters spin on their wheels, and wonder when someone is going to hop off and come join me in my cozy little pile of wood shavings for some reproductive success play...

"Said as I watch", even, and no more posting until I finish my first cup of coffee... :(

Words to inhale car exhaust by....

*To live is to lose ground.
*Once you see that everything is unreal, you can't see why you should bother to prove it.
*No one ever recovers from the disease of being born, a deadly wound if there ever was one.
*Invalids of hope, we are all still waiting; and life is only the hypostatization of waiting.
*By all evidence we are in the world to do nothing; but instead of nonchalantly promenading our own corruption, we exude our sweat and grow winded upon the fetid air.

:D :rose:

I always found the game of Life to be of value in judging our society...

...of course we made the rule you could sell your kids for an extra $20,000 each at the end

and oh,

our hampster sits his fat ass on the level above and runs the wheel with his front paws...

Is he mocking me?

Remember: Tis better to be a hamster in a wheel than to be one stuffed in a person's anus.

So, what is wrong with focusing on the romance in life when you find it? :)

By romance, do you mean the typical person-to-person kind or do you mean a sort of general, all-purpose excitement and mystery found in life?
