So yesterday was the day i'd been waiting like 4 months for, the WBCN River Rave. Over 20 bands were playing, including Outkast, POD, Papa Roach, New Found Glory, Drowning Pool, Sum 41, Public Enemy, Jimmy Eat World, Tenacious D, The Strokes, and an assload of others.

Get to the BEAUTIFUL new CMGI Field (home of the Superbowl champion New England Patriots) early, around 12 or so, and tailgate till about 2:30 or so. Meet up with a bunch of friends i didnt even know were coming, drink, get a buzz on, and head on in to see New Found Glory. AWESOME set played by those guys, as the bass just BEATS the shit outta you when you walk in. When they finish, i head over to see about getting a t-shirt, dropped twenty bucks on one, but it was worth it. Get some food at the McDonalds that are in the endzones, and head out to the festival area.

First things first, i see this incredible band called "Simple Plan". They're a bunch of guys from Canada, as the lead singer, Pierre, pointed out with "Well, the Bruins lost to the Canadians, and the Canadians lost to the Hurricanes, so we're both out, and we can be friends now". Those guys rocked, wicked hard. The played in the "pit" stage, which was a much smaller stage than the main field stage, so you could get closer, and those guys rocked my lame ass. I met the Crippler Chris Benoit from the WWF, who damn near crushed my hand as we shook. Headed into the rave tent, where i danced to Timo Maas and Paul Oakenfold. Good time, but everyone was trippin on E except for me and my Hetero-Lifemate Pat.

Head back into the stadium, sit up in the stands to catch some Sum 41, then head into the mosh pit and absolutly control the place. Meet up with my two good friends, and head up to the front of the stage for Public Enemy. Hang around to see Tenacious D, who kicked ASS in my opinion. We get seperated, so i'm all alone, till i run into one of my friends girlfriends, who's totally lost along with another one of her friends. we get together, go get a couple of beers, and wander around for an hour looking for everyone. Finally, its like 8 o'clock, and Jimmy Eat World is rockin out. We all meet up, then decide that thats it, we're going our seperate ways. Pat and i head back to the rave tent for like 5 minutes, then Papa Roach hits the stage.

Papa Roach KILLED. It was literally just an assault on your eardrums, it was awesome. at this point, i run into a girl i sorta work with, she's a vendor at my store, and we've only spoken like twice, but she's wicked good looking, and since we both were pretty well drunk, we just randomly hooked up. At the end of Papa Roach's set, which ended with Coby Dick seperating the crowd and causing a huge mosh pit, she went to get a beer, and i get tapped on the shoulder by another smokin girl, asking me if i could put her up on my shoulders for the next set, which was POD. Well, who am i to turn down a pretty girl? Held her up on my shoulders for like 45 or 50 minutes, i told myself i would pass out before i put her down. at the end of the set, i caught her up in my arms, lowered her down, and we started hooking up right there. funny thing is, she didnt know my name. oh well, i'm not complaining. at that point, i decided it was time to call it a night, so at 9:30, myself and Pat left the stadium.

we get to the car, and i more or less collapse. we drive maybe two hundred yards, and i go to reach for the radio dial, and i can barley move my arms without pain shooting through me. We ended up at Bickfords at 10 or so, ate dinner, and came home.

What a friggin day. Cant wait to do it again next year. Top 5 bands

New Found Glory
Simple Plan
Tenacious D
Papa Roach
POD

I'm still recovering, my shoulders still hurt, and i'm tanned as a bastard. Its up there with one of the top few days in my LIFE. Cant wait to do it again!!! River Rave 2K3, where you at!?

Woohoo! Sounds like you had a kick ass time!

Where was this at again?

And, what's a hetero life mate?

It was at CMGI field in Foxboro, Ma, just a few miles south of Boston. It was AWESOME.

Hahahaha, have you ever seen Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back? hetero-lifemate is what Jay calls Silent Bob...in other words, he's my best friend, like a brother to me.

Glad someone found my post, thank you so much cutie :)

Well alright then, I was beginning to wonder. :D I haven't seen Jay and Silent Bob in action yet.

That's cool, whenever I get back from a cool concert I want to share with everyone, literally. I love how it's always like a big ol' party. Everyone's friends.

:)
