My wife is considering getting her first bikini wax and had a few questions. She has shaved and used magic cream for years but has never had a wax. We have a romantic getaway planned next weekend and she wanted to try it. I know these questions have been posted before but I don't have time to go search them all out.

1. How long should her hair be when she has it done ?

2. How long does it keep the hair off on average ?

3. How many days before we leave should she have it done ? We are assuming that it will be tender for a day or two anyway.

She is a little nervous about letting another women touch her and do the waxing so any words of encouragement would be helpful.

Oh and because as a guy I can't resist asking have any of you had any sort of sexual experience while having this done ?

Oh my. My piece of advice is NEVER have something like that done for the first time before a big event. If she, in any way, reacts badly to this, you're going to have a hard time getting romantic when she cringes each time you brush her red sore pussy.

Is this a common reaction to waxing ? Do a lot of women experience a reaction where their pussy would become sensitive (and not in a good way) from the waxing ? She was thinking of getting it done Monday or Tuesday so that she had a good 5 days.

Personally I prefer waxig above all other methods. However, pink is right and to do this before a big trip could be a mistake. Everyone reacts differently and it would put a rel damper on your holiday if she is too uncomfortable to let you near her.

That said, I believe the hair needs to be at least 1/8 inch but will work better if it is closer to 1/4. I usually have some small red bumps for 24-36 hours after but they go away. She might want to get some tea tree oil; it is a natural antiseptic and will help prevent the hair follicles from getting infected and causing ingrown hairs. A few drops smoothed in after the shower should do it. How long it will last depends on the individual; my hair unfortunately grows really fast, which is great for the hair on my head, but not so good for the legs and bikini, so I go at least monthly. But I have been having it done for so long now the hair does grow in lighter and finer than it used to.

That word 'monthly' reminds me - tell her never ever get waxed in the few days before her period. It will hurt like a motherfucker. The skin is much more sensitive at that time.

As far as it being a sexual experience, all I can say is uuuuuuggghh. Am shuddering at the thought. Look I know there are people out there who may think laying under flourescent lighting getting hot wax poured on you and then having every single fucking hair ripped out at the root is the height of ecstasy, but not me! Not even vaguely sexy. I go to the same person pretty regularly and we chat about our husbands, TV shows, her son, blah blah blah but that's about it.

Well she made an appointment for early in the week so that she has time to recover if need be. I'll let you all know how it went, maybe if she really likes it she'll let me post a picture of the results.

I'm a cosmetologist and I second everything that PeachyKeen said with the exception of one point. It's been my experience that when done properly, waxing shouldn't get in the way of intimacy. I can wax my pubic area and then about an hour later have no discomfort left at all, so don't worry too much about that. In addition to the tea tree oil, she should apply ice to the area (you may want to help ;) ) when she gets home. This will help the swelling go down as well as relieve any discomfort she may have. ALWAYS have it done professionally. If the skin isn't held taught you can end up with bruises and welts. Therefore, NEVER do it yourself!!!!!!!! Good luck, and have a great vacation.:)

Awwww LustEngine, you always know the right things to say. :) Will you marry me? :p :p :p

Well Mrs.TygerPaw had her very first bikini wax yesterday afternoon, she went with the brazilian with just a tiny strip of hair. She said it hurt like hell for the 15 minutes and was a little sore afterward but feels fine this morning.

Let me just say it is VERY SEXY, she has shaved and used the magic cream before but no way does that get in and around the lips like this does. I can't wait for this weekend, breakfast, lunch and dinner is served. She is making me wait until we reach our destination Friday before I get to sample it up close, but something tells me it is going to be a great weekend. She also said that I could take a few pictures once she had a few glasses of wine so maybe when we get back and can show you all the results.

Permanently bald?

I would love to learn if there is a way to permanently remove pubic hair short of the incredibly expensive laser treatments? My wife & I both vary from landing strips to fully shaved...I soooooo love the absence of pubic hair! Something more permanent, but not requiring another mortgage would be a wonderful option!

Oh, & I am Midazolam...a very new member of this forum.

I would also like to find a permanent way to remove the unwanted hair. Mrs Tygerpaw is very brave indeed, as I tried it once, and was IS enough for me. I swear to God I thought my freckles would come off too!

Sugaring was no help, acutally did one side and ran around with the paper stuck to me for 45 min to the other side thinking "Ok, I am gonna pull it in a minute"... uhhhhh I got in the shower instead. Trusty ole Venus razor and I went about our business. I get very smooth, but I have to do it every couple of days to keep it up.

A pain free, non allergenic, pimple proof method would suit me just fine..

Ears

I'm thinking about getting my ears waxed. Your thoughts?

Midaz surely if there was an answer to that question, it would hardly be a secret.

I was hoping for sage words of wisdom...anyone?

Sure we could read you what was written on my fortune cookie tonight!

But for the kind of wisdom that you're looking for regarding permanent hair removal, why not ask our resident cosmetologist, Naughty n Nice? I'm sure if there's anyone more up-to-date regarding all these procedures, we haven't seen the likes of them here. I'm sure she could rattle off a few words of advice from her experiences.

Must read entire thread before shooting off a wise ass remark. :p I'm flattered that you feel that way, but you never responded to my proposal ;)
