So, I've shaved for years, and I don't mean my face. I'm about to try waxing, seems like a good alternative to taking a razor to my groin daily. Any guys that have done this themselves, or anyone who've done it to a guy have any tips?
It can be a very painful process and fairly difficult on any area with loose, or excess skin, however - if you're willing to try it, here's some tips and tricks:
1) Cleanse the area with soap and water. Towel Dry.
2) Using a cotton ball or make-up brush, dust the area lightly with baby powder.
3) If you're going to use wax strips, then warm them up by rubbing the strip between your hands first.
4) Apply the strip. Rub it so the wax adheres. Pull the surrounding skin -taut- and in a quick motion, pull the strip against the direction of the hair growth.
5) Apply pressure to the area immediately after the strip is removed.
6) Baby oil can and will remove any excess wax!
Note: It's better to use smaller strips on one small area at a time. This takes longer, but - it's more precise and causes less trauma, therefore (hopefully!) eliminating any bruising!
Thanks for the tips, just a little late though. The wife and I made an attempt about an hour ago.
Went relatively well. Definitely hurt, but not unbearable. There are still a few straggling hairs that we'll re-visit in a few days. Things were just a tad too sore to continue today. I probably could have done it, but why go through that, when i can just let it heal up, and get those few spots once things are back to normal.
I'm already pleased with how it went. I expected it to hurt, and that it did, but the result is about what i was looking for.
