WAVERLY HILLS SANATORIUM

this majestic building stands above the small town of boston mas. the hospital started out as a two story building housing 40 to 50 patients. many of them with T.B. but over the years and many owners later the hospital now houses 400 mental patients.. many of which claim to have "seen" or heard "strange" things around the hospital. the building it's self stands on 500 acres of property. the grounds are well maintaned by the grounds keeper and his men.

with rolling green hills and apple blossum tree's and rose bushes amogst other variety's of greenery dotting the property there is also a large pond towards the back that has been fenced off for the safety of the patients. from the street looking up to the tall four storie building it is truely a lovely site. but from those on the inside looking out it is a dark dreary place. with bars on the windows doors that lock and rooms hidden in the celler for the patients that get out of hand. the uncontrollable ones.

for these people there is nothing majestic about this building. it's a hell all on it's own. where bumps and knocks down't just happen at nite. and the dead prey on the minds of the ill.
how will the patients at waterly hills sanatorium survive. and what will happen when the so called normal people that come in to cure the sick begin to see and hear things that couldn't possibely be there??

Jess was in her room, sitting on the wooden window seat, absorbing the early morning sun. Her body shivered from the cool of the glass against the side of her body. Her arms and legs covered in thin scars and burns from ciggarettes.

She still couldn't sleep well; 2 maybe 3 hours if she was lucky. Her first visit from her doctor was in 10 minutes, her weekly overview of her treatment, and progress.

since she was in treatment, she had gained 8lbs, but she was still grossly underweight. Her mental conditions, addictions and otherwise were just beginning to be uncovered, and she was on so many mood adjusting medications she couldn't feel like herself at all.

There was a knock on the door, it must be time for her first treatment of the day, she pulled her blanket up to her hips as the doctor walked in.

Scarlett waited in her room for her morning medication. she layed lethargically waiting for a nurse or doctor or anyone to unlock the door and walk in with the tiny paper cup of mood stabilizers which was basically a tranquilizer and a small cup of water.

She got fidgity, twitching slightly in her bed as the sun came down on her. She was wearing her hospital issued draw-string pants and a cotton long sleeved t-shirt, she didnt want people to see her scars. her beautiful hair was messy since she tossed and turned all night and everyday. For once she didnt want to have drugs shoved down her throat and told to behave. she was fine in her head, but according to the doctors and nurses and her own body with bruises from her violence...she was not.

she waited; slowly getting less patient.

The freedom of being an incorporeal manifestation had been psycologically liberating for Eddie as he strode proudly through the hallways, walking through carts, racks, orderlies and doors without the slightest care. Honestly if it hadnt been for all the people here he probably would have gone crazy by now like the ghosts that haunted abandoned buildings and light houses... they really had no social tact and acted like morons as far as he was concerned.

Today seemed like any other day to him and he paid his usual visits to the patients, maybe today they'd actually notice him, those nice young foxes... He could tell they knew he was there... There wasnt much fooling Eddie Blitz, once the world's most explosive rock star and hedonist.

He stood for a moment in one of the corridors looking around to make sure he had the bearings right...
yep, her room was right below his feet. He smiled and stretched his arms out like a swimmer preparing to take a dive, and let his body fall backwards, swining back like pendulum connected by the feet.

He hung upside down from the ceiling of Scarlett's room, arms crossed over his chest which still bore his grubby old black, sleeveless T-shirt bearing a Skull and Crossbones and the name of some band. The lettering on the shirt was too faded to tell of course. He was pretty sure the woman couldnt see him. Oh well... that would be alright for now...

Scarlett layed there and suddenly felt strange, another presence around her. She looked up thinking she saw something. She scrambles and sits up against the wall in the corner.
"What the fuck!?" she exclaimed.

she blinks a few times trying to beleive herself. "Is someone there..." she asked softly now getting scared.

It was the meds they gave her, she was sure of it. She was hallucinating....or was she. She didnt know if she should believe her eyes...or her idea of the doctors medication making her crazy.

Eddie raised an eyebrow, then let his lips break into a smirk. He waved to her, seemingly hanging by his feet from the ceiling. He gave a chuckle and then winked at her. With a swing of his arms he flipped out of his hang and let his feet land on the floor. With a turn he bowed deeply. Saying nothing and simply looking back at scarlet to see how badly she was going to flip out.

EVery now and then he'd find a patient like this that could see him fairly substantially, he loved coming into the room and just letting them freak the fuck out. He stifled a laugh and did some rather juvenile things, made some googly eyes, waved his hands around, stuck out his tongue and then fell through the floor (literally) laughing, dissapearing out of sight underneath the linoleum.

He couldnt help but feel a little bit of remorse though, she seemed like a nice enough girl... it was really too bad she had to be crazy...

She sat there in shock. It was her eyes. It was...really there..whatever it was. She started to get twitchy and not overly worried.

Her hands were shaking again and she stood up and paced in her room. Getting mad again. Wanting to know more about whatever...whoever was just in her room. Curiosity always got to her.
Ghosts? she thought to herself....well...she wasnt going to rule it out, but she did want to know more.

Eddie found himself in one of the bathrooms. He looked into the mirrors, seeing a faint image of himself reflected lighty almost as a shadowy shillouette in the mirror. He squinted into the mirror until he could get a clear picture of himself and started to slick his metaphysical hair down., or back... or somewhere.

Whatever he was trying to do soon proved futile in some strange way. He sighed dissapointedly and paused for a moment once more. He felt somewhat curious as to how the woman had taken it all... it probably couldnt' have been well. Feeling that pang of guilt he poked his head back up through the ceiling and looked up at her from the floor where it was hard to see him.

Jittery and anxious...
Gosh, had it been some nice mentally sound person it would have been funny... But now he just felt bad..

He sighed and sank back through the floor, sitting down on one of the toilets and feeling himself blush... even though he was physically incapable of it to a certain degree.

new pt.

Mary was used to waiting for every thing around here. The sum was up and it would still be a while before the keepers as she referred to the Dr's and nurses would try to get her to take those killer meds. She know if she took them as often as these crazy keepers wanted her to she would either die or go crazy.

She had heard voices for so long that this place was nothing new for her the keepers were just meaner and some of them seamed to like hurting us.

She was in a hospital gown with hospital draw string pants. She got up to look out her window. She wished the would just board them up. All they did was remind her of another swimming pool and freedom that now was so far out of reach.

She reached out and hit the glass knowing full well that it would not break but liking to make noise. If she did it too much it might give her a day in the cellar like that was a hard ship them she wouldn't see what she couldn't have. So she reached out and hit it again.

Candy Morgan sat in the center of her bed looking strait ahead and rocking back and forth her hair greasey from not being washed in a week and a half. her face pale from refusing food for the last few days. her hands wraped around her legs. they kept her nails cut to the quick. she wore a pair of sweats and a baggy t shirt.

she looked out of the bared window wishing she could go out and lay on the grass. letting the sun hit her in the face. laying down she wished she could go home.where she could be alone, she was desperate for a blade as the emotions inside her built and built. she woundered when her doctor would be coming.. she never knew which doctor she would be seeing. she had seen 3 already since she had been here. closing her eyes she lay her head on her knee's.

Scarlett kept paceing. questioning outloud what she saw. who it was, he looked familiar but she couldnt put her finger on it.

"WHO ARE YOU!?"she screamed out looking at te ceiling and then down at the ground. "WHERE ARE YOU!?" she screamed again.

she sat on the edge of her bed tossing her hair back arms folded...waiting for a doctor..or her mysterious friend to come back.

Eddie heard the scream and floated back up through the floor bouncing up through the ceiling of the bathroom and standing in her room, arms crossed as usual.
"Jeez , " He said to himself with a sort of embarassed tonality. Of course, nobody in the mortal realm could hear it. He stared at his feet and sighed. He stood quietly in the corner of her room, sheepishly watching her claw the air and scream for him.

she hopped to her feet and stared at him like she was about to attack him.
"who are you...what are you doing here?!?"

she demanded answers from him. not knowing what he was capable of she stood there...staring. Her heart raced and her hands shook. and her arms got shakey as well.she try to get her self to stop.

"answer me!!!" she screamed again.

He tried to reply , keeping his gaze worried and almost deadpan. His words sounded fine to him but in the mortal haze they soudned like someone playing an echoey record backwards.

He tried to appologize but after a few moments it seemed futile, his words didnt make a damn lick of sense to her. He looked somewhat defeated and embarassed and started to sink through the floor once more, deciding to leave her alone rather than fighten her any more.

she jumped backwards hearing the odd noises. his lips were moving but all she heard was a strange noise.

she got nervous again and panicked; her heart raced and her body twitched. she lay in bed groaning.
"Let me out!" she screamed to the doctors. She didnt know what to do with herself or how to full react to what she had seen.

He sank back down to the toilet seat, folding his arms over his knees and shaking his head. "Way to ruin that one Eddie..." he muttered cynically. He took a moment to feel sorry for the woman... He knew he'd have to make it all up to her sooner or later. He'd find a way... somehow...

He sighed and stepped out of the bathroom, Slipping back through the ceiling to the hallway outside Scarlett's room... he started to troll around the other rooms seeing who else was in, his face passing by each window for a breif moment, long enough for him to see in, and for any patients to see him.

After hitting her window a couple of time she decided that it would take major attacking before they would come and that would mean she would be tired and bruised by that time. She wanted to wait for that.

For a moment she thought she saw a face in her door window but on one came in so she reached the conclusion she was seeing things.

This new devolopment she blamed on the drugs they were giving her.

He saw Mary's breif look of recognition and he smiled. He stepped through the door (Litteraly THROUGH the door.) and had a poke around inside her room.

THe knock on her door turned out to be the morning nurse, administering the day's first dose of intense medications. Jess let the little paper cup's contents slide down her throat, and drank the dixie cup of water she was given. She could hear another female patient scream down the hall. Jess knew she herself was messed up, but what was wrong with that girl? she had to be seriously disturbed.

The nurse left her alone again, closing and locking the door behind her. Jess leaned her body against the window and watched the small glass window in the door. She thought she saw a man walk by, but how, there's no way they'd let anyone walk around alone. She shiverd a little, closing her eyes feeling the cool of the glass on her body was calming, as she started to drift off.

Scarlett's nurse finally came in handing her, her medicine. She smacked the paper cup away and screamed at the nurse refusing to take the medicine. Cursing at the nurse calling her a "mind altering wench".
Yelling at her and punching her across the face. Getting yet another nurse to run out of her room crying. "YOU ARE ALL TRYING TO RUIN MEE!!!!!!" she screamed at the girl after her door got locked. she laughed at the girl feeling superior.

she then went back to the corner of her bed and started to laugh. almost giggling at the power she felt she had.
no one will make me take mind altering medicines she thought. I'm just fine....just fine.

she folded her blanket compulsively giggling.

"Dammit dammit dammit dammit." he said to himself as he heard her familiar voice echoing through the hallway. He turned out and zipped through the walls back into her room and finding her bunched up on her bed.

"Gawdalmighty... why are the cute ones always crazy?" he asked nobody in particular. He watched her fold the blanket quietly in dazed dementia. He sighed and sat down on the bed next to her, watching her.

She jumped when she saw him. Her mysterious friend was back. This time she said nothing. she looked at him. and made hand motions hoping he could talk that way. almost in sign language but not quite.
she put a hand out like she wanted to touch him..but was unsure and let her hand fall down slowly.

she kept looking. trying not to let her emotions get the best of her. she almost felt like crying now.

"nononono..." he muttered, inaudibly. "dont cry... crap... I didn't mean to uspet you. Dammit all... " He said, rubbing his forehead and moving out to touch her and his hand falling through. "You cant understand my words... you cant understand what I'm saying... this must really suck musnt' it?"

His words were just an inaudible whisper now, lost in the hum of the AC.

"i'm so alone...."
she said as tears rolled down her cheeks.
"i have no one." she sat on the bed next to him. She wiped her eyes. Nothing makes sense anymore. She looks at him. "can you sign to me who you are? with your hands....I'd like to know. You look like some kind of punk rocker..."

He was good looking..whoever he was. She choked back more tears as she looked at him.

He looked down at his shoulder and showed her a tatoo with a band name on it.
"ROCKBLITZ" in Hells Angel Old german style lettering. Once he saw she could read that much he did his best singer impression, holding an invisible microphone in front of his face and screaming into it, then playing air guitar.

He remembered the old days, being the Frontman for Rockblitz... it sort of brought back memories, pretending to rock out as he once had. Hopefully she might have listened to a few of their old records that they recorded back in the 80's. Hell, most of the classic rock Radio stations still carried his songs.
