It has been steadily warming here over the last couple of weeks. Summer will be here come Thursday.


Won an auction for a complete IHC trigger group with all IHC components in it. There's a good auction for a very IHC rifle - I thnk the op rod is wrong is it - that's heating up as it comes toward the wire. It's some more than my WRA rifle was/is.


This SA that I have apart upstairs. It looks better as it cleans up, but I just to got the barrel. It seems to be kinda dark with green patches coming out. Can you say "copper fouling?" I can. I have an old container of Sweet's 762, but I think I'll Google and see if there's some other trick. My guess is, this rifle hasn't been this far to pieces and cleaned since the 60s. Who knows how long it sat?

I have some tins of official antique US Army bore cleaner. All olive drabby and properly marked. Want some to go with your antique rifles?

I bought a cardboard container of official US Army grease. That was 20 years ago. I imagine that the Better Living Through Chemistry, like bullets and powders, have come up with something better. Which reminds me, I need to search that. The solution may very well be Elbow Grease. Lots of back-n-forth with a dab of something and the bore brush.

According to FedEx, the WRA is "out for delivery" between 1130 and 1530. If it's closer to the former, then I might haul ass over and collect it today. Then the cats can have a new box to play in, too.

Pulled apart the bolt and the trigger assembly. Man, them's some skeevy gunbits. They're all sitting in solvent and cleaning up.


Allah knows we have to keep our triggering mechanisms clean so that they'll trigger properly.
