.IN my yard in Wisconsin I had 5 HUGE Silver Maple trees, trunks like 8 feet across and well over 100 feet tall. When they dumped their leaves in the fall it was like a 12 inch snowfall, if I didn't keep up mulching them with the mower I had to rake or it killed off the grass. When I raked I always took them to my compost pile and by spring I had some beautiful black soil from the leaves.
