Watching porn on a Dreamcast?

Back before the Playstation 2 smothered the market, the Sega Dreamcast burst onto the scene for a brief run before Sega collapsed on itself.

According to friend who read AVN and Dreamcast Magazine, Vivid Video (and a few others?) were looking into the prospect of making their DVDs compatible with the Dreamcast. But the system died shortly after, and so did the talk. But I'm wondering, was this ever done? I'm not looking to buy, just curious.

[For the record, the DC cannot read DVDs, so it wouldn't be that simple. To do this, as near as I can figure, 1.) the disc would have to be in two parts, one half DVD-rom and one half GD-rom or CD-rom. A utility would need to be programmed to playback the file (possible, as the homebrew DCDivX allows this). Essentially, the movie would be on the disc twice in two formats, or 2.) the movie would be in .mpg format, and DVD-players would need to treat it like a CD-R. A utility would need to be programmed, like above, for the DC to take advantage of it.]

I have a couple of VCD players for the DC, and even the best of them plays VCD's that are grainy and have poor framerates.

There are also a few of DivX players out there, and those too suffer from graininess and framerate issues.

For $99, you can get a portable VCD/SVCD player that plays MPEG-1/MPEG-2 movies. It's the same size as a portable CD player, with RCA jack and S-Video output.

Yeah, I'm aware of what's out there. And while it's certiantly not grade A quality, watching Aqua Teen Hunger Force (plus anything else I can find off the web) on my tv is deliciously fun. I still catch ATHF every Sunday (hard to get every episode via 56K), but for the remaining six days, I gotta watch something.

Thanks for the input though.

Aqua Teen Hunger Force

That show looked like crap when I saw it coming on. Then it turned out to be pretty funny. I wonder if one guy writes all the Cartoon Network stuff- they all have this absurd humor.

As I understand it, it's done by the people who do "Space Ghost: Coast to Coast", who also do "Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law", "SeaLab 2021" and (possibly) the "Brak Show". It's definatly oddball, juvinile humor, but it's wickedly funny, hence my addiction. I eagerly await the new season.
