Watching my 1st thread fade away.....

I've clearly become addicted to Lit's BB, but I'm surprised I'm feeling so sad watching my very first thread, "Long Distance Relationships", fading away in the Personals section.

Is this a typical reaction?

Thanks for posting!

That just seems to be the way it is.

I've only posted two threads, my first one didn't get a very good reaction at all so I waited a little while...my confidence being shattered...LoL
:D

Yes, I agree Wiggles with your sentiments! Originally spent my time in the chat rooms at Lit; find them a bit more user friendly. My 1st thread was full of responses from users I had met through the chat. I'm just beginning to meet the users from this "General" board. Hope we'll both meet up again in our future threads!:)

Well..

Look @ it this way.. Your first thread is fading away, but your second is still very much alive.. All threads, @ one time or another, fade away.. They can, however, be brought back with a simple *bump*.. But that gets to be annoying.. Anywho.. One of these days you'll start threads that will be around for a long time to cum..

Don't despair, JennyOmanHill. There will be many more threads in your future. All threads should die eventually (I wish!).

As far as responses, or lack thereof, I've noticed that sometimes you hit a nerve and other times you don't. Even people who have been here forever, still lob a bomb once in a while that quickly sinks to page 80.

Ahhh is this why my futile attempts at posting replies in the last 24 hrs have met with a stony silence me wonders??
Does this mean that those of us who can't spend 12 hours a day, continually sat in front of the pc are doomed to to talking to themselves when thay get time to come here.....<echo echo echo>.......

Ok I live across the pond but surely that doesn't count against me?...<sniff sniff>

Maybe I should post something on each thread, regardless of whether I actually have something to say or not, make a nuisance of myself.....even if I get flamed at least I'll have got a reaction!!!

Ah well I'll just have to console myself with the double choc & fudge cake I made earlier!!...no one to share it with means more for me....mmmmmmmmm

For those who may not appreciate my sense of humour these musings are not serious...I don't really want to be flamed ok :)

Which is it? Do you want to be flamed or to be ignored? :p

Moonbeam... hmmmmm

Thank you all for making me feel at home (or is it "in a home"?) here on the General board!

I know all good things come to an end, and it's better to learn to "let go", and you all have encouraged me to do just that! I just surprised myself at feeling sad about it!

I feel most welcomed now since being hypnotized by DCL, and feel the urge to head to the airport right now!

Thanks for the encouragement gridiron, Ruby and delyte. I'll definitely keep on posting and threading (although I'm not sure I sew very well).

Well I'm a big girl now...hmmm yes I am....I can tie my own shoelaces & everything!
So if you want to flame me or ignore me....well.....I'll just go & sit in the corner & cry if that's ok........but you won't be sharing my choc fudge cake if you're mean to me...<vbg>

Yeah, but it's a midnight spot right next to the toilets and the fat lady pretending to be a nun -- and frankly they both smell. Let me make a few calls. I think I can get you the noon slot in front of the cookie cart. Hang on...

Hmm...chocolate fudge cake. Delyte, please forgive me. I have been remiss in not wholeheartedly welcoming to these fine boards. I have the utmost confidence that you will be an outstanding poster here.

Dont worry JennyOmanHill, I will remember your thread. And the fact that your ldr person came and posted with you. That was wonderful! I am embarking on my own,so all of your words will stay with me,thread or no thread.

So hows it going with your ldr?

Yes, LTR, things are still going fine! Better each day, but also a bit more frustrating, since February appears to be the target month (so to speak!) and it might be rough going through the holidays.

Yes, congrats again to you and your Master! And, naturally, thanks for posting here! Hope you will keep us updated on your future together.
