When I was a child our local school board tossed all of us kiddies into remedial speech classes to eradicate our native, regional speech patterns. My speech teacher was a nice homosexual man from New England who spoke like a true Yankee of Maine or Massachusetts.
In 1969 I dated a girl from West Virginia who went thru the same speech mill to make her talk like a Maine lobsterman.
That's America today, for everything. But 60% of America opposes the forced improvement, its agents for improvement, and the pols who demand it. Trump speaks for the rebels, and the GOP and Media and Academia and New England are furious. What none of them understand is this: America is pushing back against the efforts to make us a welcome station for the UN.
