Was the Grinch really "bad"?

I really love what Christmas stands for, but I find myself identifying with the Grinch. Is that a paradox? I hate the materialism and commercialism of Christmas, but I love being with my family and friends and having fun with them. My little granddaughters got so much shit they didn't even want to open presents anymore. I saw little children trampled by shoppers trying to get their greedy little hands on those Air Jordans. There is no material object that I would do that for. I hate when radio stations start playing Christmas Music 24/7 starting at Hallowee'n. I hate that we didn't go to church as a family yesterday because we were too "busy".
I don't think the Grinch was inherently "bad". I think he was misunderstood and had problems expressing himself (like me). And I don't the Whos (or my family) are "greedy little bastards".

Does this hold any water?

The Whos are capitalists, and their economy depends on a gangbusters holiday season.

After the roast beast dinner, the Grinch was slapped with two thousand charges of breaking and entering, and one count of animal abuse.

If you're not about celebrating the birth of Christ, then just have a family reunion and drop the pretense.

The celebration of Christ stopped having hanything to do with it about a hundred years ago. Yes it does make you a bad person that you associate with the Grinch. He was evil and it's been backed up by his later appearances where he fought the Cat in the Hat and stole everybodie's ability to talk. His problem with Christmas really wasn't the presents or the feast. It was the Goddamn singing that happened at the end, except the one time when it wasn't but no he's an evil prick just slightly more redeemable than Oscar the Grouch.

I personally like Newt. He had is "latest" conversion after watching his now wife sing in a Catholic choir. I mean, what a perfect excuse for adultery.
