According to an attorney representing another Deplorable who attacked the Capitol, she was - and I quote - a "fucking retard" whose actions were the result of Trump's "like Hitler" propaganda.

But, as the Deplorables will say, she was either an American hero, or an antifa member who had it coming. (They're a little confused because...well, the attorney for one of them already spelled it out, didn't he?)

Why is this even a debate??

Although to be fair, far-left violence = far right violence, in terms of harm and destructiveness. But while Antifa were destructive and just as anti-American with their agenda as the insurrectionists on Jan 6, the capital attackers came a lot closer to actually overthrowing American democracy. And they had a lot more support from people in actual positions of power in government than Antifa did. Hence, I believe they were worse- as in, far more dangerous.

Antifa targeted cities, but the Trump mob targeted all of America and it's democratic institutions at once.

One enduring memory I have of the "attack" on the Capitol is an overhead shot of people walking through the rotunda to wherever that goes. The most unruly thing they were doing was moving the velvet ropes to widen the walkway.
If antifa had a central role in this, all the artwork, furniture and sculptures would have been destroyed and fires would have been started.
The fact that the Capitol was still standing and that the contents within were generally unscathed is proof antifa did not have a large role in the event.

I might agree, if anyone could verify that the bulk of looters and rioters were actually "antifa" and not primarily unaffiliated opportunistic criminals, right wing agitators, directionless young people, and desperate angry people out of work due to the pandemic.

It has already been determined that those arrested during the summer unrest were not affiliated with "antifa". Of the 300 federal arrests stemming from the summers riots and looting, "antifa" was only mentioned in one case.

That cop was authorized to use deadly force to protect classified information, he was stationed outside of the US Capitol classified information reading room/vault.
