Wartenberg Pinwheel

A number of years ago, I purchased one of these at a medical supply shop in Manhattan. It was a lot of fun to use on a willing partner, and have to have her use it on me. It feels ticklish when applied with light pressure, but becomes sharp and painful when the pressure is increased. Excellent for use on those very sensitive places ...

'Sharp and painful' would be what I'm looking for.

Hard limit!!

I intensely like this sensation. It is rather effective after being spanked, caned... somerhing where the skin has already primed, so to speak. Use that wheel on a welted or red area.

Super hard limit. Too much sensation.

I'm so confused! ... is it a hard limit for you, or something you 'intensely like'?

I've also read about (but never tried) the combination of electricity and the metal pinwheel. If the spikes are electrified, it supposedly feels like a sharp spark each time a spike contacts the skin. Adding it to my bucket list! :D

We got one of these about a year ago. It really makes her squirm took a bit of trial and error to figure out how much pressure is tolerable in which spaces but hey that’s why we have safe words 😈. I was quite surprised she likes it on her labia but the really tricky part is not going to lightly in certain spots or it tickles and that’s a limit/ mood killer for us.

P.S. don’t get a cheap one. I was looking on amazon and reading reviews on one that was so cheaply made the wheel would catch and stop spinning. Thinking of the damage this could cause. This is one toy I didn’t try to find a bargain on lol

I love my Wartenberg wheel and I echo the advice on getting a quality one. It’s a versatile little tool that can produce a variety of sensations and can be a great change of pace in play. If you want to see someone hit the ceiling, give them a good caning on their ass and thighs, and then roll that Wartenberg wheel up their legs from the back of their knees to the top of their ass. Oh, what a reaction! :D

It’s a medical device. Don’t ever buy one from a bdsm/toy site. They double the price.

The Stockroom sells a basic one for $9.50 on their website. As long as it's made of solid metal, and the pinwheel turns smoothly, it should be fine. Never get a plastic one, because there's a possibility the little spikes could break off and embed in the skin.

We're no where near caning yet ... we only graduated to a belt this week (which I actually enjoyed WAY more than I was expecting). I like your point about the 'change in pace' though ... I like to mix things up a bit.

This thing.

It's not the same as a very similar looking implement used in bakery, is it?

I haven't used the baking version, but I expect that would be blunter. The Wartenburg wheel I have is not quite as sharp as, say, a dressmaking pin, but it's close. Basically, about as sharp as it could be without being likely to break the skin in normal use.

I can't even FIND the baking thing now. Maybe it was just a fad because someone used on on Masterchef two years ago. I think sharp is good. ('Normal use' ... lol.)

One of my favorite toys to have used on me. Excellent for erotic pleasure, and pain.

I'm reviving this thread because I need some advice from an experienced user ... I'm about to actually (and finally) buy one for the BF's upcoming birthday. I instinctively thought the ones with more rows of spikes would be 'better' (read that how you want), but then someone wrote somewhere that the sensation isn't as great because the pressure is spread across a wider area, and the the ones with a single wheel have a sharper sensation.
Does anyone have any thoughts about that?

I've never seen one with a single wheel - like a pizza cutter???

Speaking from experience, the one with a bunch of spikes is very very VERY spikey feeling. LOL. I can't think of a better word. It will do the job. Especially if you've done something to the area you're wheeling over, say, for example, caned inner thighs or used an electric wand on chest or flogged bottom of feet. Or even scratched or tickled an area. Waxed. Spanked. You get the idea.

' ... very very VERY spikey feeling ...' - I know what you mean. :)

In the link in my original post, the 'classic' version is what I'm referring to as having a single wheel.
