BREAKING: World famous investor Warren Buffet torches Donald Trump's disastrous new tariffs and destroys the absurd lie that they won't raise consumer prices: "The tooth fairy doesn’t pay them."
And the Oracle of Omaha was just getting started...
"They’re an act of war to some degree. Over time, they’re a tax on goods," Buffett told CBS. "I mean, the tooth fairy doesn’t pay them. And then what? You always have to ask that question in economics. And then what?"
Trump implemented 25% tariffs on Canada and Mexico today and doubled the tariff on Chinese goods to 20%. The markets are now in free fall. The Dow has already plummeted nearly 650 points. The S%P lost 0.9% and the Nasdaq lost 0.2%.
Beyond the catastrophic damage inflicted on the economy, these tariffs have irreparably damaged America's reputation. We will never again be seen as a stable trading partner because the world knows that we are just one bad election away from total chaos.
During the CBS interview, Buffett was also asked about MAGA oligarch Elon Musk but said that he'd "better not get into that," likely fearing reprisal from the infamously vindictive administration.
MAGA voters wanted cheaper grocery prices and instead they've saddled us all with high expenses across the board. We warned them this would happen. We shouted it from the rooftops. But they refused to listen.
The Republican Party is a cult and now they're force-feeding the Kool-Aid to all of us.
