I use MS Word as a document processor. Today at work I wrote a sex scene to took about twenty minutes or so, and I really liked it.

I was in a hurry to leave, so I hit save, closed word, and then pulled my USB drive from the port.

I got a popup telling me that there was a read/write error on the drive. Like I said, I was in a hurry to leave, so I continued shutting down my workstation.

When I got home, the last scene was gone.

Don't let this happen to you :(

Wait for it

as Radar used to say.
Wait for it to complete the save.
Use Right-Click and Eject to safely remove a USB device.

I'm sorry for your loss. But when you re-create it, it will probably be even better!

Yeah, I knew better, but didn't do it. I have a extended cable for my USB on my desk and I just pulled it out. Bad, bad, bad...

Just a warning to authors. I got a hard-on over that piece, and now it's gone.
