Warning from Wyoming!

So, the stoners in Colorado buy the 1/8 oz of MJ for $70, transport it to Wyoming where they sell it for the going street price of $25.

Good plan.

I see a country that is about to be populated by a bunch of addicts all claiming pot is not addictive and will be laughed at more than it is now if possible.

I see a bunch of gangstas selling pot for less than the gubmint.

Legalizing might put the current dealers under. After all why deal with these shady characters when you can deal with the Govern...

Never mind.

Bottom line people who smoke a bone here or there to chill is one thing, but there are far too many 24 seven can't even make it through a shift at work without being high types to think this is going to do anything, but make this society more pathetic than it already is.

it will be 4:20 24/7 and everyone will be talking like cheech and chong all day

Crap...I would hate to be high - yes I have smoked in the past - at work. That eight hours would feel like days.

I remember one of the times I tried it, that StarTrek episode that was on the TV took all night to finish.

Now, today, I would care less if it was legal. I don't buy any now and I wouldn't buy any if it was legal. But I'm sure all the 420 stoners would be ecstatic and their local dealer would soon be out of business, unless he also deals in coke and H and X and all the other letters of the alphabet.

Doesn't anyone in Wyoming know how to grow their own?

Colorado pot shops net over $1 million on the first day of legal operation

http://www.rawstory.com/rs/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/potsales.jpg

Pot dispensaries in Colorado, where the regulated sale of marijuana became legal on January 1, recorded well over $1 million in sales on their first day of business.

Despite cold temperatures and intemperate weather, most shops reported long lines throughout the day, with some customers waiting in outside for hours to purchase marijuana legally.

“It’s a huge deal for me,” Andre Barr told 9 News, “to be part of the legal weed experiment. This wait is nothing.”

In other reports some waited for six hours in the snow, in line to buy pot!

I'll bet the summer crowds are booking their packages now!

i see fields of hemp stretching out to Kansas, lobbyist's handing out samples in the Legislature, and Mitch arguing that Kentucky hemp is better! All in the name of mammon!

Marijuana is a very specialized form of hemp. If you grow hemp in an area, it is very difficult, next to impossible to grow marijuana in the same area.

Am I the only one that can't get over the hypocrisy of a country who has a full out campaign against tobacco talking about lung cancer and second hand smoke and people have to smoke 50 feet from buildings(and RI law not sure what other states have it)

But let's fully legalize a mind altering substance that can do even more damage to a person's lungs than tobacco?

Man, this is laughable.

Still looking forward to the day I get to pop the first stoner who lights up next to me and blows it at me.

And never mind me won;t it be nice when someone takes their kids or grand kids to a play ground and there's the stoners smoking their legal pot and the kids have to smell it.

Incredible how this country continuously goes out of it way to reward the dregs of society.

I'm over it. The nation is rudderless with no oars. And a reckoning is coming.

You're right and sadly its going to be an ugly one and in a hail of blood and gunfire.

the people are going to end up forcibly taking this country back from the wealthy and it may very well happen while the biggest fraud in history is still in office.

One can hope anyway.

Sorry to have to tell you this but pot doesn't have the carcinogens that cause lung cancer. Maybe you need to research something before you pop off about it.

What, and ruin their opinions with mere *facts* ??

Inhaling ANY smoke damages the lungs, whether it's from pot, cigars, cigarettes, or the bbq smoker.

There's another aspect of legalizing that might actually be beneficial. If we can put the cartel growers out of business, we can stop the destruction of national forest lands in places like northern California, which is caused by clandestine cultivation.

Well....... yes and no.

Long term marihuana use has a suppressive effect on the immune system thus increasing the risk of all cancers. Effectively this means that marihuana use combined with tobacco smoking will double your already increased risk of developing lung cancer. So if you're a marihuana smoker, it's definitely a good idea to quit those cigarettes. Don't mix your drugs. ;)

Another thing - despite not containing carcinogens in itself the marihuana smoke will still cause tissue damage and inflammation in the lungs and can thus be instrumental in creating a pre-cancerous condition. So the risk isn't zero.

Lastly results so far indicate that prolonged regular marihuana use increases the risk of testicular cancer, prostate cancer, cervical cancer, brain tumors - and leukemia in the offspring of women who smoke during pregnancy. Probably due to the aforementioned immune system suppression.

The problem with all this is the available data - we desperately need more research. When marihuana is legalized in more states we'll of course get better statistics, but as of now it's difficult to do proper research on the subject because the numbers are obscured due to the illegality and the skewed statistical populations.

Not just in Cali, but Kentucky, New York and Pennsylvania. The national parks and forests, as well as in-ruins farmland, are being used to grow the illegal crop.

Like I've said before, I don't use it, don't believe it works for arthritis, but legalize it, so the state tax coffers can grow!
