Choose which you think should happen. Should we capture Osama Bin Laden and Al Queda alive.

Also explain why anyone believing the other is so very obviously wrong and delusional.

Your topic was rather broad. Why don't you try and narrow it down some or provide some specifics to what you mean.

IMHO...

personally, I think bin Laden should be killed! (I won't go into any unneeded expletives)...but rationally- if that were to happen, we run the risk of making him a matyr- which is a scary thought! I think he should be tried in international court by a jury. His supporters are volatile...it's a fine line to walk, deciding on the best course of action to take with him.

The war on terrorism will never end- there will always be others trying to plot the downfall of one of the "super-powers".

We should use whichever method insures

that we generate the most email and posts in chatrooms.

I don't think the U.S. can conduct the trial. This was an international act of war, it is not for a nationally constituted court to resolve.

That said, if we do hold a trial, can we afford to have it look rushed? Can the world believe we are just and righteous if we afford the accused less that we offered O.J. Simpson?

No one that is not of the rich and famous has ever been offered what O.J. Simpson was. Your post was fine until you got here. Nothing can be compared to what O.J. received. There are many of us who can only WISH we could have the same kind of trial that O.J. had.

Imagine...

...... if we took just a minute to try to understand what is happening instead of routing out the latest ememy of our ideology and destroying it before it has a chance to sprout some enlightenment. Killing innocent people is wrong and OBL is guilty of this, yes, but so is almost every other nation with America topping the list. OBL isn't just a quack we should whack but a man who warrants some serious discussion. What you have happening is the elimination of any and all conflicting opinions to the ruling elites' ideology in the name of retribution for war crimes or violating civil liberties. This is just one aspect of the perpetuation of mono-thought. It's always easy for the victor of a war or conflict to start one of these tribunals and ensure its implementation with its military might in the name of justice but if the criteria was applied across the board almost every nation is guilty of gross violations of decency.
