"Will Lewis told staff in a note that the job of the outlet is 'to help our readers make up their own minds.'"

Used to be that readers could still do that with an endorsement. This is indicative of a lot of things, but it definitely makes it easier for A.I. to be subbed in for content vs. journalists in the future. If there isn't critical thinking, the source and quality of the content doesn't really matter. Another nail in the coffin for journalism.

I’m sure there are some outraged staffers at WaPo just like there were at the LA Times. Bless their pointed little heads.

Truly the leftist/democrat's worst nightmare: not being told what to think and other people thinking for themselves.

🫢😄

I know it's like they think they're Rupert Murdoch or Elon Musk!

Apples and oranges. Murdoch and Musk express opinions as individuals. That’s different than a news organization making candidate endorsements. News organizations have the right to endorse candidates and many do, but Bezos has decided his paper won’t.

Murdoch owns the Wall Street Journal which doesn’t endorse candidates. Elon Musk doesn’t own a news outlet.

Murdoch and Musk own Trump man.

Murdoch owns a company called NEWScorp which runs several newspapers including the NY Post which you conveniently omitted.

Musk owns the biggest disinformation machine on the planet.

Apples to apples dude.

It is St Crispin’s Day.

‘From this day to the ending of the world

But we in it shall be remembered

We few,we happy few,we band of brothers’

Still some magic to October 25th.

Will Lewis ( Sir William John Lewis ) publisher of the Washington Post or 2024’s Benedict Arnold?

Just asking!

Editor resigns, subscribers cancel as Washington Post non-endorsement prompts crisis at Bezos paper

The first prominent journalist, editor-at-large Robert Kagan, resigned Friday in response to the decision, Semafor first reported. But there may be more: “people are shocked, furious, surprised,” said an editorial board member, citing internal discussions around resignation. “If you don’t have the balls to own a newspaper, don’t.”

Look at the bright side: Harris may be losing in all the swing states, losing the popular vote and looks to be losing the election in a bad way, but at least...no, wait, that was the good news. 🫢😄

How can you be allowed to be so sexist! It will be whatever it wants, while the ‘ ancien regime’ remains in power. But this thread suggests that all is not well in paradise.
