Back in the 1960s you could have bought any one of a number of Polish castles for one zloty (about 5 cents US). The downside was that you had to restore them to a habitable condition using Polish workmen (and paying bribes to the local Communist Party officials).

I don't care how many buildings are physically there a city with one person is a mansion, not a city. A city needs people.
