Lucian let out a long and slow sigh as he came over the last hill that put him in sight of his destination. He gaze lifted to look at the large wall-enclosed city of Alexandria. It was an awe-inspiring sight to be sure, and he encouraged everybody to make the trip at least once in their life. He, however, was not as thrilled to see it as many people would. This was a place that he had been many times, and was likely nothing more than a resting place on his own journey. His journey had been a long one, and sadly for him, it was far from finished. His body and soul were filled with something that could only be described as wanderlust. He was never happy in one place...could never be happy. Even when things seemed to be settling in for him, he knew in the back of his mind that he would be leave soon. As such he never put down roots, and have no place that he truly called home.
With his initial reaction and hesitation out of the way, Lucian started walking once more. His black cloak was as dusty as his boots were, thanks to the roads he'd traveled and the ever-helpful winds. He walked forward, hunched over from the wind, even though he barely felt the cold. His hair was normally blond and almost shining in the sun, but was almost as dusty as the rest of his current appearance, minus the violet eyes that could be were endlessly studying where he was going and his surroundings.
Despite how many times Lucian had been to Alexandria before something felt odd this time. It was hard to really put a finger on what it was, a particular sight, scent, or sound...but as he passed through the gates of the city with a small group of travelers, his instincts were twitching. He hated the feeling welling inside him, but it was a feeling he'd long since come to respect and trust. As such, his violet eyes continued to watch everything he could, and his ears were tuned and ready, trying to catch even the slightest hint of a threat that he knew was there, even if he didn't know how he knew.
