Wandering in from the hinterlands...

oh yeah, i often say art is bad for your health - once your in the zone you dont eat sleep or rest your achin back til you're done.

Gorgeous paintings by the way! the colours are awesoem

Love the painintgs, especially the second "before she could find out" kind of sexy Matisse feel.

My current blaupundshmeer is fun but a bit of technique would open my mind to possibiities

This is a detail of my latest work in progress

It's a rorschach test
When I took it in to be framed, someone commented on the pretty fish I had painted
Fish?
Someone standing close by shook his head saying he saw a torso
Another stated she could never see anything in abstract art

So the title is "No Dolphins"

Thanks for posting, just-pet. I really enjoy looking at art posted by everyone. Love your paintings. Can't talk in techy art language - just know what I like and don't like. Please keep posting.

Wooo Hooooooooooooooooo!!!

Glad to see you've made your way over here, pet!

As I said before: Your color choices indicate an unusual sensitivity toward them...lovely...and the texture and medium used to create the glossy surface enhance the color even more.

Beautiful work! Thanks for sharing your art over here - please post more!

I can't talk in techy talk either
I squirt the paint on the canvas and shmeer the brush around. The rest is just luck. Thank you so much for posting. It means so much to me.

Your spirit is generous and kind. I see your encouragement everywhere. I could use a mentor. Interested in the job?

Hahahaha!! ("shmeer")

So you use a pallete knife, rather than brushes?

Luck, my ass...it's called intuitive knowledge. You were born with it. Please keep posting, pet - I'm enjoying these!

cute and relevant

2 points

And for something completely irrelevant...

A Buddhist monk in NYC. He's struck with a craving for a Nathan's hot dog. He sees a street vendor. He hands the vendor $20 and says:

"Make me one with everything"

<pause>

The vendor takes the money, stuffs it is his pocket, prepares the dog with the works, hands the finished masterpiece to the monk, and then turns to the next customer.

"One moment, sir. I want my change."

To which the vendor replied:

"You, my son, of all people, should know... change comes from within"

Good call... about the palette knife. The white one has an underlying painting done with brushes, then frosted with the knife.

As to intuitive, hardly. It's all done with mirrors and a color wheel.

But thank you

I love esoteric humor!!!!

Renee DesCarte was sitting in a cafe, sipping the last of his wine. The waitress comes along and asks "Would you like another glass?"

He replies "I think not" and POOF! he disappears.

:D :D :D :D

I love this!

Steven Wright: I have an existential map. It says "You are here"all over it

Steven Wright is unequalled. What a brain!

sticking with the subject here...

"It's a small world, but I wouldn't want to paint it"

And one Wright gem in another vein...

"The menu said Eggs served anytime, so I ordered eggs during the Renaissance"

Is this the comedian of the same name?

Kcar, Wright is one of my favorite comedians

By the way,my boyfriend just got home from 2 weeks of diving in the Galapagos and the pictures he has taken are breathtaking

Here is the link...

swimming with sharks

This image he took just for me. Of the 14 people on this trip, he was the only one who actually braved the battering current to meet the penguins close up. All the others stayed on the boat.
