Wal Mart's sharp fall in earnings

You mean they purchased no indulgences when they raised associate pay voluntarily?

:(

So now we pay more, but still have to hate them for all of the wrong reasons?

I predicted WALMART will be history by 2020. There's always been a major disconnect tween Bentonville and its stores regarding policies and practices but the company keeps hiring CEOs with zero grasp of retail sales.

Like, I needed toner for my printer. At WALMART the toner sells for $45, AMAZON sells the same toner for $30.

Whatever. Anyway, WalMart ain't going broke. They're playing a financial game. Yeah, their stock prices are way down., like I think 40% in the last few months. That means the stock is cheap, cheap, cheap. Wally insiders will merely spend some cash reserves to buy up heavily-discounted stock that will be back at this level next year -- and their portfolios will show a 40% windfall. Easy money, folks.

I think it was that old manipulator Jay Gould who said the time to buy was when blood was running in the streets. Wally's ain't going away. It looks like it's bleeding but this is only a golden opportunity for the giga-rich to get even richer.

And yes, Disney is much more evil. I'll do that rant another time.

PS: This is my LIT post #5050. Only another 75 to go.

Stick to writing and leave the thinking to master thinkers like me and AJ.

Walmart could cut their internet costs significantly just by requiring a password for their Wi-Fi. It would keep Eyer out of their stores and parking lots as well. A win-win.

All of the brick and mortars are facing the evolving habits of the consumer.

Why drive to the venue, when you can get it delivered to you?

I see centralized and mechanized distribution centers as being the future of retail. There will always be niche boutiques and shopping districts just for those who shop as entertainment/social interaction, but I think that with the pressure to pay higher wages and the positive interferences of government and the altruists, that they will eventually kill that which they have decided they can improve by putting social justice before profits.

I hate walmart. I don't give a shit about their chinese made crap, or whatever the fuck the hipsters boycott them for... I don't shop there because of their rude ass employees.

Every damn time I check-out I speak kindly, "hey, how ya doin'?"

And every damn time my kindness is returned with a fucking eyeroll and teeth sucking.

I hope it goes out of business and they all fucking loose their fucking jobs.

Fucking shitheels!!

And yet Jade Helm passed off without Texas being invaded by the gubmint and the Chinese. Shocker.

The feds have said that they have the power to use the military to forcefully invade the state capitals of any states who attempt to exercise states rights refuse to refuse to be federalized.

Mercenaries and foreign troops will replace any US military personnel who refuse to obey the fed's draconian orders.

I have refused to step into a WalMart for years. The family is reputed to be the least charitable billionaires on the planet for starters.

But somebody here mentioned Monsanto -- they have moved into the first place of evildoer corporations in my book. So scary!

You're right, Wal-Mart is child's play compared to Monsanto.
