Waking up from cold sleep

Far future: humanity has left for the stars in big colony ships. To survive the trip most of the passengers are put into cryosleep. The method is effective and passengers are woken up and checked on every few years to make sure there has beenno long term damage then put back to sleep.

Upon arrival, they enter a one day quarantine to receive innoculations for the planet they are visiting as well as to readjust to regular life and shake off the temporary amnesia.

Some stories about what happens during these wakeups

1. Couple wakes up and sees they are in the room of “Mr. And Mrs Smith.” They get their innoculations and, lacking entertainment as the ship’s computer is focused on the wake up procedure and the ration bars they were provided taste terrible partially the default taste and partially their sense of taste and smell still kicking back in, they start talking. Seems there’s an age gap so the woman jokes that maybe she’s a gold digger who was just in it for her husband’s money. Man laughs as his few memories are of a pretty frugal livelihood. The computer then lets them know their kids are up which only raises more questions.

However, while they may not remember much before going to sleep, they do remember going in and having their last embrace be interrupted by the ships robots who forced them into their pods and then being routinely woken up and smiling when they saw the other was doing okay as well as having a couple giggles when they saw the man had been frozen with a stiffie one time and she always had rock hard nipples.

Eventually they decide to spend the rest of their time catching up by fucking. Their embrace is familiar but it’s like they are figuring out each other again from scratch. They see it as just a side effect of their amnesia and fuck each other silly. End of the day they still don’t have their memories back but it’s cool, they know they are definitely romantically and physically compatible.

…then the door opens and their “kids” come through. Turns out they had thought they would get one big room together but they found out they were getting two seperate rooms. Mom went to go find their son but the ship pushed up the flight plan and forced everyone into cryosleep. So mom was with son while daughter was with her dad.

2. Of course, taboo is just one. Another option could be cop and fugitive. They were running around in pursuit and the ship needed to leave so it shoved them in an unoccupied room. The fear the fugitive had of being caught they instead think of as fear for a lover and cop feels the same.

3. Classmates/student/teachers: parents are aboard but schools all got grouped together. Students wake up and even if they retain their memories they decide to fuck while students (18 or older of course) and teachers professors might think they are age gap couples .

Maybe they have to be woken up once a year or so in order to keep their reproductive systems from atrophying. After all, they will need to colonize and populate the new planet. So they are woken up, two by two, and told to have sex just to keep in shape. Then they go back to sleep for a year.

These sessions are meant to be anonymous, but maybe one pair manage to fall deeply in love with each other. From then on, each time they are woken up for their annual fuck session, they ask about the other one, but the attendants don't know any names. So they fuck strangers fantasizing about their true loves. And then they do their best to find each other at the final destination.

Or maybe something totally else happens. It could go lots of ways.

Course you could have people fake having cold sleep amnesia:

“Oh no, I have no idea who or where I am, I hope my roommate doesn’t take advantage of me.”

“oh no, I couldn’t do that…but maybe we’re married.”

Couple wakes up and hubby has the amnesia bad but wife is there and supports him through it.

…what he doesn’t know is that she is an alien or a spy who snuck in and took his wife’s place to get information out of him. With his amnesia he doesn’t notice things she gets wrong and can be more easily manipulated by him.
