just found of yesterday my 45 yr old dad who's never missed 1 day of work in his whole entire life has MS WAHHHHHhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh:( his ability 2 walk is being slowly stolen from him GRRRRRRRRRR:(

I won't say I know how you feel because I don't but I do know what it is like to watch a loved one fade.

My thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family and I hope the best for your father.

Here is one great big south GA hug for you.

Dawn

I'm so sorry. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I have an older friend(59)with MS.He went from perfectly fine to an electric cart in about 4 years. It' different with everyone,so don't let that scare you.The point is he has a very positive mental attitude that has really gotten him through.Stay strong. The person doesn't change-just their physical abilities. We still have a great time together-we just don't do any jogging. The mind makes the person!

I am sorry....

My grandmother had MS and I have an uncle with MS as well as several friends. It affects everyone differently.

There have been tremendous breakthroughs in regards to meds that stop the progression of MS. They don't work for everyone.....but it's chance I would take if I were diagnosed with MS. I'm sure your father's neurologist will tell him all about the ABC drugs and get him on a program that will give him a chance at as normal a life as possible.

I have the web addy of an MS forum and chatroom that may provide some comfort and information for you and your father. PM me if you'd like the addy.

Take care....

My Dad has MS. If you want to talk about it. I've been dealing with it for the past 10 years. We're near the end now.
