The guy is cognitively challenged. His wife openly supports more funding for education, but he still cuts the funds, and then wonders why schools aren't all up to par. He gives us billions of dollars in tax refunds, then reinstates the starwars program which will cost the US billions of dollars and isn't likely to be effective. Christ... I think the US must be the laughing stock of the world. We'll never recover from his stupidity.

Congress is the one who spends the money, not the president. He can put a bill into congress just like any other citizen in this country. So if you wanna bitch about the way congress blows cash, then bitch to them. It would actually do some good.

I never understood why people come here to whine about political doings when all they have to do is go to like http://www.senate.gov or http://www.house.gov and email their congresspeople. Whine bitch moan and complain there. They love hearing from constituents. Or did we never think about that? Afraid to participate in the government or something?

President bashing is getting fucking old. That's ANY president.

Do you really think the politicians give a flying fuck what any of us think? Do you truly think this is a genuine democracy?

I used to work for Paul Wellstone and could sign his checks... they actually had me *practice* writing his name until it was similar enough. Then I graduated to signing letters to all the great constituents who wrote to HQ.

Only when there was a great majority or volume of mail in favor of an issue did the big cheese hear about it.

So the signed, framed picture of Paul Wellstone I have hanging on my wall was actually signed by MistressHoney? ;)

But this President's unusually challenged.

And it's easy for him to roll Congress over. Except that Condit - he doesn't listen to anyone.

I appreciate your sentiments, Myst. The key to interpreting W's behavior is to know that he knows very little about the issues, sees everything as a political score opportunity, is fearless about potentially negative consequences because he has no sense of history. he doesn't care about the long term in any way whatsoever. Being reelected is his ONLY goal; it would top his father's record, right? He's as shallow as a wading pool; Reagan, who actually cared about the issues, seems very, very deep in comparison. Killer's right about Congress, and we should keep after them.

A query -

Is Wellstone as lame as I've always suspected?

Myst, I'll answer this one for you. YES! A great big old fucking YES! Alot of the world does look at the U.S. as the laughing stock.

Here's a prime example, you may have heard about a small problem in Florida last year, but maybe not, if not, I'm sure there's someone out there who nows all about it. I think it happened at election time. ;)

But before that, when I was back home for my sisters birthday in Guatemala last September, the headlines in one of the papers was about how Bushy told Cheney to "look over there, there's that ASSHOLE reporter" (paraphrasing it). Only he didn't know that anyone heard him, or that it would be printed in the papers. The thing is, they printed what he said verbatim in our paper. When I read that, I just had a good laugh at W's expense, figured he cut his own throat on that one. Boy was I wrong!

So yes, sad to say sometimes, like other countries, the U.S. is the laughing stock. A few bad apples as they say, spoil the whole bunch.

Okay, that's it! I'm marrying someone from another country! Fuck this American nationality crap. I don't even want to be associated in the same species as Bush.

arent you the same one who was bashing clinton for cutting the military, so clinton is responsible for that cut but w isn't responsible for cuts he makes. double standard.

Sorry, Muff, I was trying to flex my intellectual muscle.

Good job! I bet the president doesn't know the difference between affective and effective either.

KillerMuffin

Put a gold star on your forehead.

Yours were the most intelligent comments I've seen here for a long time. The best thing any of us can do is let our congressmen and senators know how we feel. They do work for us, you know.

I wonder how many people here can name the Congressmen in their voting district. Or for that matter, how many actually vote in the Congressional elections.

As Todd would say...

They're all donkey dicks! It's a conspiracy!

:p

Well if Todd's voting Canadian Alliance, and I suspect that he is, then he's the real donkey dick!:p

Oh yes!

I wanted to add the name of that sleazy, psychotic Alliance leader to my buttfuck with cacti list, but I forgot hsi name.

I just happen to think...

that Todd's insult, which he used once on a thread way back, is an inspiration.

You can throw it into any discussion no matter what the subject...

:D :D

My Congressman is John Linder (at least until the next election and then who knows because the new maps are being drawn to force him to run for the Senate or to run against another Republican incumbent.)

The Georgia Senators are Zig-Zag Zell Miller and Max Cleland.

I vote, so I have the right to bitch.
