HI All,...I'd like to make a comment. I just signed up a few weeks ago. I have one story up with one pending. I am amazed at the number of times my story has been read (almost 8000) but I only have 19 votes. I have read a few stories and try to remember to vote each time. The only reason I think not to vote would be because I didnt finish reading the entire story. Does anyone that has been submitting for a while see the same thing?

I think most people find that you get maybe 1 or 2 votes per thousand views or so; sometimes more, sometimes less, but that's about it.

And remember that, unfortunately, a view isn't the same as a read. Anyone who clicks on your story counts as a view. How many of these people actually read it is anyone's guess.

Thanks, Doc...I was wondering being a newbie here. I would hope that people take the time if they do read the stories. It only makes sense....if you take the time to read and/or write stories, it is a quick way to approve or not of how this time was spent.

As for voting for yourself Honey, yes, I did and I think it registered. I don't know if you can do it more than once, but I would rather not know and wouldnt do that anyway.

I agree it's frustrating to see all the people who have read what you wrote and not voted or even commented.. but we can only say no comment can also be a good thing?? sometimes.

How do you make the sayings on the bottom in Italic and how do you put the link for your stories?? I have tried and tried all I get is [/i] and feel like a fool!!!

I am not computer illiterate and it's totally frustrating!

Go to your userCP and then to edit profile, scroll down to signiture and click on vBcode, it will give you step by step instructions on how to add sig lines, also make sure you have vB turned on in your options.

It's called your "signature"...you need to go into your profile from the control panel page and there is a place to enter your favorite saying or quote. I havent done it myself but that's where to go.

Status Quo

Hi everyone,
Just a little update...I now have 3 stories up and am having similar results. Lots of views but not many votes and no feedback. I joined to put stories up and that is what I'm doing. But it would be cool to see some more audience participation.

I have looked closer at my own viewing trends and I try to be more aware of making sure I vote on a story I at least finish.

The one story I've posted that I thought would get notice. Didn't. Thats when I started paying attention to the way people wote, or rather don't.

It has only had 3 votes. 3!! I couldn't believe it. They were each 5's so I thought I'd hear more on that one. I never did. Even the numbers for readers on that one is low. <only 3300+> But genre has a lot to do with it.

oddly enough I find very different results in another place that I post stories. It's more of an anything goes place. And tastes apparently run a little more towards the pornography rather then erotica there. My writing tends more towards porn and jerk off material.

Anyhow, I see a vast difference in responses to the two places.
It's interesting to watch, if a little frustrating at times.

Human nature seems to compel folks to vote if the story pisses them off or simply isn't to their liking.

I wrote a rape story. It has 7 times more readers then the one that got 3 fives and it's gotten a very dismal rating - from 35 people! more then 7 times the number of people voting on the other story I mentioned. The first time I ever posted that story I got some very nasty feedback. I was actually accused of being a man writing as a woman because a woman would never write such a thing.

I find it amazing how often people apparently will read a story that they know will offend them.

Now that you have a couple of stories under your belt you'll understand how unpredictable it all is!

Angry Feedbacks...

It is amazing to me that people who read my stories accuse me of having an evil life, or who vilify me for having wanton sex with a stranger, or just want to chastise me for spreading STD's...

In my profile, I stated that SOME of the stories I would post would be true, and some of them are, with more to follow...

I just don't understand why people have to always assume the worst of a person, rather then thinking about the possibility they don't know what they are talking about...

Let's not forget the ones that assume since you write smut
you would be happy to meet them and screw their brains out immediately and despite a profile that says you are in a relationship.

I've been propositioned so many times. Guys that want to fly here or ask me if I'd be interested in flying to where they are - simply for a screw! i'm just amazed LOL I ask them, what there aren't women where you live that you'd have to spend all this money just to get laid??
