Voting problems

I have a particularly frustrating problem with CHYOO. I can't seem to vote on a thread! It's been months since I was able to successfully cast a vote and leave a comment. Even when it worked, it always took forever. Now it takes forever and then it comes back with the message that I am not permitted to vote on that thread.

Is anyone else having this problem? I'd really like to be able to vote, and give feedback, and promote the stories I like, but circumstances are making that difficult.

I have noticed that when I've voted and posted a comment on threads added to my story by other authors that I get timed out, but when I check the my stories section the vote has in actual fact registered.

I think that the "you are not permitted to vote on that thread" message only comes up either if it is your own thread or a thread you have previously voted on.

A way to test if your vote and comment are indeed registering would be to vote on a particular thread, leave a comment and then check with the author that it comes up in the "my rating" section.

My experience has been similar to android1966. I vote, it takes forever and sometimes times out but the votes have still registered.

Just out of curiousity how fast is your internet connection? I am running on a cable modem so it is fast, although I have voted from my laptop on a dial up and still not had anymore than normal slowness.

I think droid's idea is best, vote and comment on a couple of threads and then check with the author to see if they came through. I am not sure why it takes so long to have voting complete the process. It seems like a simple database process, but who knows.
