voting on your own work

If anyone feels like voting on their own work, then do it. You're a reader here, too!

But if you give your work any rating less than a five, then you gave the rest of us less than your best effort.

I prefer to wait for others to rate my work to use that as a gauge to try improving in the future. I did post one chapter which I would admit was not worthy of my own five (more like a 3 or 3.5), but I was writing it to appease an editor saying I needed to focus on those first two experiences (my 'Newbies' chapter in LW). I was more interested in quickly moving on to the later chapters.

As I've noted before, some time ago, in a rare post to the discussion board, Laurel posted that authors could vote once on their own stories and the vote with stick. When I tried it out, I'm quite sure the vote got swept.
